    fuel filter

I was gonna try using a FFM of a 6.5 TD. The square ones we use are prone to leaks and causing air in the fuel.

    Heater core replacement

I did just that. Re core your old one unless you can find NOS. Don't use a Made in China POS. You will regret it. They don't radiate heat. My CUCV had awesome heat until I replaced the HC. I put a Chinese aluminum Knock off POS in. The thing barely blew Luke warm. I had hot water going in and...

    Swolen glow plugs

And after you get them out , don't use Wellmans aka WAPs. Rockauto has Bosch Duratherms for 59$

    Cleaning CDRs

They should not be cleaned. Solvents destroy the diaphragm. They should be tested and if necessary replaced. I outlined it in another CDR thread.

    Rubber fuel pump hose

Use Pusklok. I doubt very much it's made anymore. Not much stuff is available. Ever since GM went bankrupt and screwed all there parts distributors . Even stuff for GMNT400's is drying up fast. forget about square body's.

throttle shaft seal on IP CUCV

They can be done on the truck but chances are the IP is worn as well. They are cheap enough to have rebuilt. I use Accurate Diesel.

CDR valves - Whos got em?

Sadly even the aftermarket crap does not make one. To my knowledge they are not available from any source other than occasional NOS on ebay etc.

CDR valves - Whos got em?

Since there is alot of interest on CDR's I am going to post a link to an outside source. I know the guy who wrote this and it is the best explanation of a CDR, how it works, how to test etc. It is too much to copy and paste so hopefully for the benefit of the members it's ok to post this link...

    CDR Valves: turbo vs non-turbo?

AFAIK they are different. Use one of a 6.5 TD I know the banks kit does not address it. I would "speculate" that the draw on the cdr is stronger with turbo vs N/A therefore it would seem reasonable that they would be different but I have never been able to find solid facts.

CDR Valve: Anyone ever find a source ??? how to test?

I just got one Off eBay as well. NOS. the only way to test is a manometer . Too much trouble to build one. I just figure is was due.

Non "Made In China" parts list.

All the warranty or customer service in the world is worthless when a part fails and leaves you stranded or you have to do a job 2 or 3x or a Tool is lifetime warrantied but can't do the job. Craftsman IMHO is junk too. Homeowner stuff. Anyone who wrenches for a living knows why Quality name...

I wonder if that block would supply enough oil for a turbo ?? I was wondering what that thing was for. Thanks.

    Gear Vendors

AFAIK The GV unit is universal and you buy the appropriate adapter. That said you better post some pics and serious detail...:-D A GV combined with my NV4500 would probably be really cool. Double secret Overdrive, I'll call it....:driver:

6.2 running ruff at idle and under rpm

You should replace the copper washers and return lines on the inks but Otherwise yes you can use them. I would do a compression test being that the motor is in unknown condition. It is done through the glow plug hOles and the tester is diesel specific. You should see about 400 psi per cyl on a...
