Has anyone converted to serp belt and kept the 24v dual alts ?

I was thinking about losing one alt and using a series parallel switch to keep the 24v start.

Has anyone converted to serp belt and kept the 24v dual alts ?

I don't like the V belts. They burn up. I gotta see if I can change the pulleys on my current alts. I have a whole serp belt setup off a 6.5 so I could mount the extra alt somewhere because the ambulances had duals. I would just have to use the isolated one.

Gen 1 driver side not charging right

I soldered a wire directly to the bulb and then scotch loked it to the corresponding wire in the harness as a quick fix. The local Junky has an M1008 so Tues I will stop by and see if the cluster is good. The whole ribbon on mine looks hurtin.

    M1009 rear end replacement

I would Get 8 lugs. You can buy a whole rotted chevy truck for what that rear alone will cost you and the factory 10 bolt gov lok diffs are garbage. They always blow apart.

    Bad Injector Pump?

sure you are not sucking air somewhere ? I'd sightglass it first. Usually when a DB2 takes a crap it smokes like a sick whore on a piss pot. The advance could be sticking as well Make sure it moves freely. I would not buy a reman from Autozone. Take YOUR ip to a local diesel inj shop and have it...

The title pretty much says it all.

    M1009 rear end replacement

The half ton diffs are junk. Take both those diffs and use them for boat anchors. Find a set of 8 lug 3/4 ton diffs out of any chevy square body and they will bolt right in. easiest swap you'll ever do and you will be much happier. I hate c clips diffs. No fun when the spiders come apart then...

    NV4500 to NP208?

Is the sol from the GR and the DD the same ? I will probably get it from Guys Auto electric in South Windsor. Dstang, the starter is now butchered. The flywheel ground a groove in it so I took the grinder and hogged it out more for now. Check my thread at DP. When I get time I will copy and...

    NV4500 to NP208?

NP208 Bolted right up but work of warning, I used a 6.5TD flywheel and the DD starter hits it. I'm screwed I have to see if the starter shop can build me a 24v GR starter. I grond the piss out of the DD one for now but I need to change over or convert the truck to 12v which I really don;t want...

    NV4500 to NP208?

I am planning this swap as well. Will the 93 6.5td flywheel work on a j code 6.2 ? How did you make the hyd line work ? what master did you use ?

    12V Conversion Question

AFAIK, The starter motor is the same from 12 to 24v. It's the solenoid that is different. You could probably change the solenoid. I'm probably going to convert as well even though I really like the 24v start. My issue is I want to get rid f the V belts and use a serp belt setup from a 6.5 and I...

30 inches of snow no match for a CUCV

It was a used lift I bought from a local 4x4 shop. Any lift for a k30 will work. The springs will be a little narrower but will be fine.
