I double checked my meager fixes, all wiring, and then reconnected the batteries and she fired right up and performed the glow cycle without issue. Several other maintenance items to perform, but glad the flashing light went away.

Well, another go with my big Channel lock pliers and it won't budge. I am going to have to shore it up best I can and when the time comes it HAS to come apart a saw will be involved I fear.
RWH, you are spot on, the bolts were tight but the threads are not down the entire length so they stop...

I haven't tried it in the HMMWV yet, but for boot repairs and fabric/foam stuff I use Barges contact cement. STRONG stuff. Good old fashioned grip and won't let go.

I have a soft top made by Breton. Bought it last year, didn't have any trouble. Was only backordered a month. Probably helped that I wanted OD green, as they seemed to never have black or camo in stock. It is a bit saggy, but water tight and well made.

Does sound like a regulator. I had the end plate type on my 60A. It wasn't hard to replace and I did it without removing the alt from the motor. DO DISCONNECT THE BATTERIES FIRST, if you decide to replace the regulator. BUT you should definitely double check all wires, including the exterior...
Glad you caught it TOBASH. Good advice for anyone. I checked my spindles when I got mine from the National Guard. No loose nuts but one bearing was rusted and would have failed in time.
