If the bolt broke due to vibration, and wasn't wrenched in half due to being stuck by corrosion, you might be able to tickle it out with a pick/punch, hitting it CCW as though twisting it out. This sometimes work if the bolts aren't frozen in. Can't say it'll work for sure since I don't know...
I didn't watch the whole thing. The featured woman, Katrine, works for aGerman auto importer who facilitate transport and delivery of autos from outside of Germany, typically out of containers. She likes the H1, so gives the HMMWV some special attention and time on the video.

I'd cheerfully buy an unplated version! I am hoping to tackle a powertrain swap next year and want to DIY a 4-speed shifter. Your solution to remap the gates and retool the shifter is definitely of interest and I don't mind paying for a kit that solves me fussing with a protractor.

Some people call them Packard connectors. I bought a bunch off the-Bay a while back just to have them. A crimping tool is useful, or you might try soldering (crimper ex. Buchanan C-24). Protip: put a little dielectric grease on any of these you take apart, so they can be taken apart later...
Jeepsinker is detailing a Cummins 6BT transplant on this forum that might be an interesting read. I agree that something straight is easier than something V8 from what I’ve seen w these old frames. Anything is possible with enough time, money and swearing of course.

Water pump belt (2 needed), NAPA 25-7490
Alternator belt (2needed), NAPA 4215SS
