I need to explain so everybody will understand what I am looking for -
I plan to abandon the factory transfer case mechanical linkage and replace it with a new cable shifter from JB Custom Fabrication...
There may still be a few P400s out there somewhere for sale, but gosh I would hate to see the price. GEP is working on new vehicle concepts so maybe they will restart P400 production someday.
Well I believe I am finally ready to install the oil pan back on the P400. I got the bungs welded on each side of the pan, one for the suction pick-up for the pre-oiler pump and the other for the oil temperature gauge thermocouple. Also got the Wolverine oil pan heater installed the way I...
Hey - in the Classified section, the first thread is "New Advertisments" which is described as a link to see new ads in the Classified section.
However instead of a link to the new ads in the Classified section, it instead is a link to ALL new posts across all forums on SS.
Just thought I...
Just so you will know, oil pressure is the measurement of oil resistance throughout the system, and not necessarily an indication of the efficiency of an oil pump. If your bearing surfaces are worn, the gaps between the moving parts will be larger and therefore allow more oil to move more...
Darn I hate it that you are having overheating issues. Probably the next phone call should be to Chris at Bowtie to see what he thinks can be done to improve the issue. Also reach out to Glockfan in Utah. Joe Grant is a great guy with a great CUCV. If I remember correctly he just recently...
Sounds kinda like a rusted ground strap combined with burnt glow plugs. If it were mine, I would start by removing the ground strap, sanding the connecting surfaces, and reconnecting with a new bolt/nut and dielectric grease. I would then remove the glow plug resistor and power the plugs with 12...
Built a mock-up of my new gauge cluster for my M1028. Everything fit as designed, so actual metal fabrication will start next. All gauges will be mechanical - Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Transmission Temperature, Fuel Pressure, and Oil Temperature. In the middle will be a brand new HMMWV...
Thanks for that story. Glad the American taxpayers took care of things.
I understand that our CUCVs are 12-volt negatively-grounded to the frame, I get that. I was just wondering if there was any issue with returning 24 volts back to the frame through the starter. Evidently not, as it has...
While pondering all things CUCV, it occurred to me that the starters in our trucks, which are the only 24 volt appliances under the hood, are indeed grounded because they are bolted to the engine. Does this mean it’s OK if 24 volts are returned to the electrical system through a vehicle ground?
