The original CUCV 6.2 OEM pump is Stanadyne DB28294267. GM part #14077179. John Hucksdorf at Hucksdorf Diesel can supply this pump completely rebuilt to OEM specs and flow tested.
I haven’t read this whole thread so I will ask the question - have you checked the rubber fuel supply hose that...
I posted this over in the Electrical forum but thought it might get more looks here.
Do any of the SS Vendors offer the male plug that connects into the 6.5 tach drive? Not sure if this plug was "standard" on the HMMWV wiring harness or optional.
Thanks.
Ummm..... not sure where you are getting your info. Freeze plug heaters come in 600 - 1000 watt sizes. Their amperage load at 120 volts is therefore 6-8.3 amps. My Wolverine oil pan heater is rated at only 2.1 amps. So to set the record straight, the most efficient heater will be the oil pan...
Sometimes the effort to install a block heater, especially when the engine is still in the truck, may seem a bit overwhelming for a younger, less-mechanically-experienced truck owner. I know it did for me 40-50 years ago. As an alternative, I have found that an applied oil-pan heater will...
It sounds like your TV cable is not adjusted correctly. There are many references online about how to correctly adjust it and I recommend that you read as many as you can. Basically you need to temporarily remove the spring on the IP and wedge the throttle in the WOT position with a piece of...
Yes the 0 to 3500 buss bar type is what I am interested in. I saw one on Ebay recently but it had a translucent housing so light could enter the sides. Since my application will not have that type of lighting, I was curious to know if the earlier HMMWVs used a tach with a bulb socket.
Thanks.
I’m in the process of installing a new 6.5 engine in my M1028 CUCV truck, mated to a rebuilt 700R4 transmission. Because the 700R4 will not require vacuum to operate, I have installed a HMMWV oil pump drive in place of the vacuum pump on the rear of the engine valley. Because the oil pump drive...
The 700R4 is the exact same length as the TH400 and will not require driveshaft modification. However the spline count of either component must be changed for them to mate together. I’m installing a completely rebuilt and strengthened 700R4 behind my new 6.5 P400 engine for my M1028 CUCV truck...
I’d like see how you plumbed the temporary filter upstream from the 700R4. If I remember correctly, the return line from the radiator is the top fitting.
thanks.
The 6.5 open plane intake will indeed improve air flow and capacity to the cylinders. Not sure you will need anything else.
That’s a clean looking engine!
I changed out my fuel line to an -06AN line. I'm using a 6.5FFM but you can run the same line up to the OEM box filter if you choose. I posted details in my rebuild thread - https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/kinda-got-carried-away-m1028-rebuild.54469/page-15#post-2222165
Hope this helps.
