I had an issue where the truck would bog down at highway speed. Felt like lifting the foot off the fuel pedal.
Filters were new.
Turns out, it was the filters. Mild off roading had dislodged gunk from the tank and the new primary filter was clogging.
The high idle you describe is not...
Normally, three wires should be connected; the thick ones (battery and ground) and the 14 gauge "exciter" wire (which I recall receives power when the master switch is on to let the regulator know the switch is on). I cannot make it out on your pic but that thin wire does not appear to be...
Just to prove that no good deed goes unpunished; in the course of the storm cleanup the community association asked me if I could remove the remains of a 1930' Chevrolet from the woods. The car was abandoned there some 50 years ago and has since collapsed and parts were salvaged extensively. The...
We got hit by a massive storm last week, causing widespread damage and power outages for days. Helping in the community with cleanup. The Deuce is small enough to fit into most driveways.
I have a soft top on mine and enjoy riding "top less" when the weather is sunny and warm for the week. I thought a would love a hard top and in fact, I do have one in the OEM box, but cannot get myself to install it. I do not drive my truck in the winter. If you do, the hard top is easier to...
Very good and helpful comments. As for taking the fire extinguisher and shaking it upside down: I would see little issue in a Deuce. It gets shaken up pretty good during normal driving. The issue mostly arises in buildings where the extinguisher sits, unmoved, for a year and the agent can settle...
With fire extinguishers, bigger is indeed better. Take the biggest class A, B, C extinguisher you are willing and able to fit. Usually a 5 lbs or bigger. Personally, I recommend a 10lbs.
There is no point in throwing the extinguisher into the back of the tool cabinet and burying it under other...
Man!!
First off, glad you are ok and the truck...well a few things look toasty but nothing that a few parts can't fix.
I have been responding to vehicle fires for the last 25 years and kudos for having a fire extinguisher ready and for the quick thinking with the water bottles. Well done.
I...
Three sizes of head studs, actually. I got what I needed back then (12 point rod bolts) from a tractor supply; the White 2-155 engine shares many common internals with the multifuel LDS.

When I rebuilt my LDS in 2016, I remember looking into this and the head studs (two different lengths) and nuts were available from ARB with the specs from the original studs (length, diameter, thread, not by search for a model). Yes, the studs have two different threads on them. I did not go...
Passenger foot well and @Guyfang 's gladhand have the advantage of a shutoff valve to be able to disconnect the hose and keep the air in the truck; if you plumb into the air tank, you need to plumb a shutoff valve also in order to have that feature.
The quick and dirty method is to unscrew the drain cock on the outermost air tank (1/4 in NPT) and screw in an air connection to hook up an air hose. Theoretically, the air connection in the passenger foot well at the firewall should also work and backfeed air into the rest of the system, but I...
