Bummer it didn't solve it. If you're getting black smoke at times other than full throttle, I would guess you are over fueling. No idea if that could cause the tapping. Yeah, I know the disheartening part. Putting work into my rig and camper build to likely have a bad head gasket and/or...
I ran into this last year after it died while driving. Found the fuel solenoid, though make a "click" sound, it wasn't enough to open the fuel port. I replaced the solenoid with a new one and then got a "CLICK" from it and was able to get fuel through. I did put a clear hose on that return...
Nicely done. Yeah, that is one thing I cannot understand why GV continues to use, is that stupid connectors to the control box. That is like '70's tech there. I would think they could upgrade to better connectors but I guess this makes all of their control boxes interchangeable.
I think you can buy that with either setup, the individual lights/switch or the box type like I have in mine. Not sure if there was a price difference but your setup can make for a cleaner install.
Yes, I have the foot switch as well.
Fitting just has standard pipe threads. Not sure if 1/8" or 1/4" NPT but if you take it, it will be easy to figure out.
Installation is cake, as far as the mechanical part. Took me about 2-3 hours total. Longer part was wiring. I was able to run the wiring up the backside of the pass. side cab, since the M1010 had a hole there for wires. I used a plug and sealed it, with a smaller hole and rubber grommet for...
That will do it. Hope it did not fry the alt, as alts do not like being disconnected from the battery while running. It spikes the electronics inside and kills them.
Fingers crossed just a simple terminal replacement.
Yep, got mine years ago and it works very well. About the only issue is for some fitting (on other vehicles) I have had issues where it wouldn't fit the space.
I always put just a little bit of oil on the end of the balancer part that touches the seal, during installation, just so it won't possibly tear the seal. Only one I didn't do that on was my 12v Cummins, since it had a special tool and specifically said not to, as it had some coating on it...
Where is the trans sensor located? In the pan, in the trans check port, trans line? Location will make a huge difference. If in the check port or output trans line, it will always show hotter than if in the pan (which is a more average temp reading). Any location on the output side of the...
