We're in the process of getting a Military Camper Build forum (yeah!).
Anyone who has a build thread and would like to haver it migrated, staff has asked that you just let them know in the thread linked below...
With so many people fleeing the censorship of FB etc and given that this site has such strong roots, would it be possible to add a General Group for camper build ideas?
Just wondering as there are a lot of builders with no social media or forum platforms available (that do not wish to remain on...
I've got a set of Hawkers that are not totally "dead" yet. In fact one is holding charge with a sustained drain and appears to be fine.
I have the usual PulseTech solar maintainer, but I ran across this and for the price I have to try it.
Has anyone tinkered with similar (Chinese crap)...
As I prepare to delve into the trans on my 94 for a checkup, I found this. It's a nice general overview used in training mechanics in the civilian world. I've found it handy and a bit less convoluted than the TMs. Of course it covers multiple models, but has some good info.
ymmv...
Interesting bit of kit. A buddy recommended I look into this (he has one on their boat). In the past, I had thought about looking into the 12v AC used on Prius, etc but this is plug-n-play almost and has FAR more BTU. The price is comparable to what some of the less-rip surplus sellers are...
Both bags are blown on the '94 that just followed me home.
I'll be fabricating the solution later, but for now I just want to cap them off/bypass.
Any tips on where best to tackle it (just quick and dirty)?
Can I just kill the feed at the switch in the panel or loop something?
I may have to replace the tans on a '94 I picked up awhile back. I was just going to part the truck out, but it was thru the BAE refresh in 2007 it seems and everything on the truck looks to be in solid working order.
My question is which 3070 was used (I don't see a casting stamp indicating...
So according to the schematics that I can find online, the Y-j1939 pins out with the center pin as 12v PWR.
According to my reader and multimeter I have no power. I find nothing in the power panel that indicates it is related. All breakers are good and hot.
If there a separate fuse...
I was headed towards post yesterday afternoon (in an M1079) and saw a semi with flatbed and two trailers on top. Looked like someone have filled the entire load with goodies, too !
:)
Installed new cab bushings onto the passenger side. Pretty straight forward.
But looking over the driver side, it appears that it will be a nightmare. The assembly is tucked in behind the steering gearbox on one side and the radiator on the other. There is no access from above, fore, or aft...
It doesn't happen all the time and it only happens just as the temp hits 200 (but several seconds before the fan actually engages). It stops after a couple seconds.
I know the clutch and fan were replaced in this truck back around 2017 and under 4000 miles ago (likely *well* under).
My...
I've been pondering ways to lock the cap (although I likely won't need to once I get the ambo box or other type of side skirting that will limit access).
I have seen a few locking caps with the proper thread and diameter, but they would require tacking a small lip inside the opening.
Anyone...
RESOLVED: Anyone in Little Rock, AR?
Anyone in Little Rock, AR?
(or know anyone there)
I have a surplus generator I'm going to rebuild for the LMTV hab that I won at auction sitting at a fire station there in Sherwood. My shipper won't pick it up w/o a pallet and the fire chief is being a bit...
I have the passenger side antenna mount with spring intact. I've encountered a number of antennas for sale that list a for "LMTV", but they list a wide range of vehicles and vary considerably.
1) Does anyone know the antenna designation that goes with our trucks (I guess assuming just the...
