True statement. Front ground is only ground. That is the only ground terminal connected to the frame. True earth in British terms. I owned an MG and it had earth on the battery connection for ground.

This is the word of the week. It has cost me some time and effort, but it will not stop me. The door jambs were thoroughly sanded and cleaned and all the seams in the door jambs and on the doors were caulked and allowed...
Keeping my word and moving forward I have removed the windows and the top from the M1009.
I see that the factory windows had caulk on the rubbers and glass to keep them from leaking. Guess what, they leak anyway. Every M1009 I ever owned was not watertight 100%. I am going to pressure wash...
Last night was very successful. I was able to paint the face of the wheels on Sunday evening and get them set aside last night. They are ready to have the new tires mounted on them. I went into the center bay and removed the bumpers from the fiberglass roof of the M1009. I opened the hood, and...
No it is really not that hard. The hardest part is working on your knees under the instrument panel. You need to remove about 3-4 bolts. And the box unclips and snaps back together. Ask I can show you a few more pictures.
I have had great success in splitting the fuse box and the bulkhead connector from under the hood. once I have this split, I split the fuse box and replace the 2 circuits that are serviced by the power leg in the fuse box with 2 inline fuses. The one is the brake lights and the 30 amp all lights...
Progress report was posted on the wrong thread. These are the 5 wheels for the M1009. I hand sanded them to day and painted the back sides and the inside of the rims. This is the back side of one of the rims. I had them sand blasted and primed. I could have painted them within a few days, but...
All M1009 wheels have been meticulously hand sanded with 180 grit sandpaper. I sanded everything, inside, outside, the inner rim and all the slots where the wheel attaches. Painting an item is 00.1% of the final job. It is the prep work that is the other 99.9%. Sure, I could slop some rust...
Tonight I had to figure out how to get the frame onto the trailer all by myself. I had no helper, so I did it smarter not harder. I strapped the frame to the steel horses and it slid around like it was on ice. I positioned the trailer in the corner and raised the jack to lower the trailer in...
I just pulled the trigger and ordered 5 brand new Goodyear Duratrak tires. looks like I am limited to outlined black letter tires. 15" tires are far and few between in the modern pickup truck world. My 2014 Silverado 1500 had 17" and my 2019 Silverado has 18". I want to order a 2024 Silverado...
One of my favorite parts of doing a paint job is pulling off all the taped and admiring the finished product. I applied a few reflectors and I took this picture here with the flash to see the response. I need to get the frame set back on the chassis and head north 100 miles to paint and...
I applied the final coat on the trailer chassis. All in all, I think it looks great. I will be getting it un taped and reassembled after work today and I will post pictures. I like the OD brake handles and under parts. It shows a care of details and adds to the quality of the equipment. These...
I applied the first coat. I used a Harbor Freight HVLP spray gun. It has been used hard lately. I painted several bird houses and all the parts for the rock crusher. I will be getting 2 new guns when I get around to painting the M1009 Little Red. That is coming soon. We are in a drought, so I...
