I probably have the plastic trim piece, and it is cut for an M1009, but the radio plates are MIA. I threw them away years ago when I bought my first surplus CUCV's. Same as the antenna brackets and all the rear cargo covers with brackets and bows. I didn't know. I was building snowplow trucks.
I was looking thru my tools and trying to locate the correct socket for the GM 14 bolt rear axle nuts. I could not find it. I remember loaning it out and must have never had it returned. It was a Snap-On of a Lisle. I can't remember. But if you have the correct socket, it makes a world of...
My experience has been to disconnect the speedometer cable from the speedometer head unit and pull the inner cable out of the housing. Clean the cable and housing well. I even went as far as disconnecting the cable at the transfer case and blew compressed air thru the housing. Closely inspect...
Real CUCV's don't have A/C in the driver's cab. Never needed it. M1010 had it and you could A/C the cab with the access door open. Have FUN. I still like the bone stock CUCV's best.
Like I said I am just copying from the manual. Makes no difference to me. Not sure why 10w30, 15w40, and 30w, would be good but they pointed out 10w40 as not good. just pointing it out for debate. Have a Great Day.
Everybody on here likes to quote technical information. This is from the GM 6.2 manual I have from GM school back in the early 80's.
The GM 6.2 service manual did recommend 10W30 during the winter months. The manual did say to avoid the use of 10W40 engine oil but to retain 15W40/SAE 30 for hot...
My Trail Boss started from the kitchen table while I was having coffee when it was -15 outside. Just messing with you. Glad things are working well for you. I am still in a hold position and trying to get motivated. Take Care.
You can clearly see the difference. Does it have resistance immediately upon compression of the lever? I mean immediately. It must have that. The eccentric on the cam will not compress any farther to get the delayed resistance on the curved lever pumps. Good Luck. I stock 2 of the correct pumps...
The top fuel pump is incorrect. The spring over the lever and the slight curve in the lever make it incorrect. It will fit on the CUCV perfectly but the eccentric on the engine does not depress the lever far enough to get fuel delivery. If you hold this pump in your hand and depress the lever it...
I had an M1009 snowplow truck dropped off at my barn. Owner said it won't start and he tried changing the filter and can't get it primed. I hopped inside and turned the key on. Fuel gauge over at 3 o'clock. I said
25 gallons later and it was off and running. He said it also has no brakes. I...
My M1009 would shift to second at about 25 and third at about 40. The M1028 shifts at different speeds it just depends how hard I have my foot pressing on the vertical pedal. I like to push hard, and it shifts perfect anyway I drive it. But on the M1028 anything over 50 and it will not down...
I bought a few CUCV's over the years that had the VCV bypassed, and it always resulted in indecisive shifts and slipping in and out of gear during the shifts. Most times when I had the VCV replaced and correctly programmed the transmission clutch bands had already suffered burnt clutches and a...
I never used fuel injection hose on a CUCV. They never had that from new and I am driving a CUCV M1028 from 1987 that still has all the original hoses on it. It is my daily driver for now. Oh Joy. Have a Great Day.

I was looking for new tires for my 2019 Silverado and I came across these tires in 31 x 10.5 15. Not the size for my Silverado but,
I think these would look great on the M1009. Summit is a dealer. $237.69 each.
Anyone has any...
