(1) 1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked. | Page 32 | SteelSoldiers
Having the correct parts will make the mirrors more secure and add substantial support. These brackets came stock on all CUCV's and GM trucks back in the day that had the folding mirrors. And don't bad mouth the Trail Boss...
You said he gave you a box of parts. And there was a starter in the parts, May I recommend before you install the starter to have it checked out and make sure it is up to par. Hate to see you waste the time on a questionable starter. These parts I always have looked at professionally before just...
Sad to say. I tried them all and nothing fits like the OEM dash pad. But it looks better than most I see. I was just looking at mine yesterday and wondering if I should clean it and Armor All it. I have it sitting flat in the upper barn, and it is dusty. I gave $650. for it. OEM grey replacement.
How about the modulator? is it getting vacuum? And is the hose tight going into the modulator? And being that you had the transmission out are you sure the metal line that runs down is not cracked or kinked. Check that also. I always take my CUCV's to a friend to get the vacuum modulator...
Check the VCV on the injection pump. Make sure the valve is getting suction/vacuum. The top hose to transmission the bottom hose to back of engine vacuum pump. It will suck your fingertip fast if it is making vacuum.
Well yesterday was not a lost day. I made leaps and bounds in my barn. Well maybe not that big a deal but success. I have another Honda tractor to repair. It is my son's. It needs a PTO clutch and a radiator, and the radiator is discontinued. I found a few places that would make me one and the...
Seats, seats and more seats. I guess I have more seats than I need. It would be wise if I were to clean them and bag them. Maybe. I will put that on the list. The never-ending list of life's things to do when I have nothing else to do. Passengers back. Very dirty and I could clean it up if you...
This is a similar lug end for the CUCV positive cable to starter connection. It allows for correct clocking and safe attachment of the cable. This way the cable only fits one way and is correct when installed. Your way will work also. I just go thru the trouble and change the cables when I see...
Let me do some looking over the weekend. Many times, I look and find and get left with no sale, no reply and the look and find was a waste of my time. I had that happen 2-3 times out of 10 here. And that was only in the last month. I do this as a hobby and my priorities change constantly with my...
Since the 6.2 diesel was built to have the same power as a 305-gas engine, I think this is a respectable test.
I still doubt any power difference. I think it is phycological. My Dad had a new 1977 K5 with a 400 in it. I flipped the air cleaner lid every time I drove it. This is similar. Same...
I did the math that is 173 gallons of heating oil. That is $700. worth of heating oil per full cord of wood. And Sugar Maple is a medium grade wood for BTU value.
There is FREE wood everywhere I look. I was gifted another trailer load last night. A full 5 loads of Sugar Maple from a friend's place. Heating oil has 138,000 BTU per gallon. 1 cord of dry Sugar Maple has 24 million BTU's. More work but better value. It still costs money to cut, haul, split...
