    M1009 air intake cleaner

That's the same tom foolery as these cold air kits they sell today. All they do is increase the intake noise, so it sounds faster. Those kits all claim 5-10 hp increase. I've got news for Ya, you gain 5-10 hp when the sun goes down. Good Luck.

    Water leak

I agree. Vent seals. That cowl area is a real dirt trap. If you remove the 2-rear hood hinge bolts, you can tee pee the hood forward and remove the cowl screen and the plastic cowl screen. While you are in there, I would remove the wiper transmission linkage and clean lube and paint them parts...

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Things here have not been going well. I have a few health issues to address and a major wiring mess in my barn that I must have repaired and replaced. I have 6-months to have the barn wiring up to code. The first bay is my work bay. I have some 22" steely wheels on the M1009 at the moment...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

My lucky run has run out. I have to have my barn professionally rewired to code and inspected. I had an insurance company inspection and the barn failed. I cannot risk the loss. I have been working on getting the wiring up to code but am 20 years behind from my first warning. I can't blame them...

    Talk to me about horns

Put these on your CUCV. At least be entertaining if you want to get attention. Then you could get out and play a personal song for all to enjoy.

    Talk to me about horns

Anything in this degree might provide you with a sound criticism from the neighbors. 101-125 dB: 110 decibels and above is the level where other sounds can not truly be heard. Aircraft takeoff, trains, and quite loudly concerts would fall to the 110+ decibel level. 126+ dB: 125 decibels is where...

Cleaning the undercarriage and painting everything is a definite plus. That was easy.

    Talk to me about horns

I avoid being an annoyance. Loud exhaust and loud horns are law enforcement magnets. I avoid all interaction. The police have enough to do. In PA they are illegal.

    M1009 Flooring

It has been my experience that anything you put on / over the steel floor of an older vehicle that is exposed to weather and driven in in climate weather has a corrosive effect to the floor. The fine abrasive particles that are trapped between the rubber mat and the floor are grinding away every...

    Talk to me about horns

I added a HMMWV horn. It was a 24V horn and a CUCV has a 24 spade in the fuse box. I used an inline fuse and wired it to a separate button. Classic Jeep sound. I still had the stock CUCV horn wired as OEM. The current owner may have removed the horn. It was on my M1009 Mule. It dared to be...

    Dash pad question

Whatever they are made out of it is just a plastic cap that is placed over the existing dash pad. The Chevrolet trucks always had poor dash pads in them back in the day. I worked at a GM dealer and remember that the heavier medium duty GM trucks had the same design dash pad, but it was made out...

    Bad Cluster PCB?

You have a bad bulb on the right turn signal. It could even be a bad ground in the socket or a side maker light on the right side. That green glow is telling you to check your bulbs and grounds. Good Luck. The bulb socket is a common issue. Side Marker Socket NW 787111 | Buy Online - NAPA Auto...

    Antenna/Brushguard mounting bolts

The tool to put riv-nuts in place is a very simple tool. I am talking the manual type. I had the power type at one time but we quit drilling and installing mirrors and brackets because of corrosion issues. All the chassis we receive now have factory mounted mirrors. I have one similar to this...

    CUCV 1008,1009, 1028 prices.

My thoughts exactly. The left taillight is an M1008A4 update. Missing the nomenclature in the door jam.

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

Do the labor yourself. It is not that hard. The only tool you need is a ball joint C clamp. You could pay for all the tools in the labor savings alone. This is basic hand tools stuff. A cordless 1/2" impact would be nice but it can be done with manual breaker bars and a vise.
