I am, thank you. Feeling stronger every day. Keeping busy outside in the cold with firewood and trailers that I bought. I learned a lot about the M1102 / M1101 trailers and trailer chassis. Looking forward to advance on this Little Red as soon as Spring arrives.
Yea, After I sense a hard start, I check the glow plugs first. I have found 1 glow plug can make the difference. Most times it is 2 glow plugs. I once had the engine ingest a glow plug at highway speed. I did not know what happened at the moment. It was 90* and I was on the interstate. It tapped...
After over 27 years of private CUCV ownership I have never had cascading glow plug failure. Did I have glow plugs fail? YES. Did I have glow plugs swell? YES. I drove CUCV's thru mud and water that deep it was in the doors on the floor inside. The glow plug resistors smoked and smelled hot for a...
Mudflaps that run all the way up to the top of the inside of the fender will keep the ice from building up and stressing the wiring. It may get a bit wet, but it will not take the constant pounding of the rain and snow. The anti-sail brackets do an excellent job of keeping the mudflaps in place...
I was out buying a new toy this AM. It was not the one I wanted but it will be just fine. I looked hard to find a decent M1102. I came across one that was an hour away and I grabbed it. I was bidding on GovPlanet but I can't sit and monitor that. I towed it home and it trailered great. Like...
Did you remove the glow plugs and have the nozzle nuts loosened during the air purge? That is how I start trucks after a frame off and reinstalling the engine. That is the only way I found to get enough cranking speed to purge the air. I also get a visual on the glow plugs. Something is wrong...
Just keep in mind that the fuel in the injection pump and filter assembly is still contaminated. It will self-clean once you get it started. Good Luck.
I did make the curved feed line from straight 3/8" hose and it has never been an issue. I do recall it had to be just a bit longer and I used split loom to wrap it in as a protector. Good Luck. But getting it drained completely should be easy and even flushing it with a gallon of known clean...

A few of these points are fact, and nothing is infallible. I never seen more then a drop of oil beneath the truck after running your M1009 and letting it sit for days. I put clean cardboard under vehicles to find hard to find leaks. At the age...
No, that engine is beyond the use of penetrating oils or quick fix remedies. I think when you pull the oil pan you will quickly find the binding bearings. I have been there on several CUCV vehicles I bought and repaired.
You can get that clamp. I put it on. I am not a magician. And looking at the picture of the line it appears to be a curved hose. A small ratchet with a 1/4" socket and you got this. If not take the hose off on the top side and add a short piece of 3/8" hose and siphon it from there. Report back.
I could not even think of putting chalk on wet paint. But I am not that good at painting, so I guess if you painted a battalion of vehicles with chalk like I said I did it once with less than favorable results. I like the freestyle look. How could it be wrong? It's camouflage. Good Luck.
I am not sure I understand the situation. Get a 15/16" or 24MM socket and put it on the harmonic balancer bolt and turn it over. What are you trying to do?
Pencil lead on the surface will repel paint. Anything on a top coat is going to interfere with the adhesion and finished results. On a combat vehicle that is still being used tactically it will not matter. On a private owned vehicle I would not like it. I try my best. It is wet on wet. I spray...
I went back out and braved the cold again. I made great progress and completed the lighting repairs. License light and bracket. I changed location. This is how the wires were up under the rear at the newer LED Truck Light taillamps. I straighten them out and wire tied them up in place. I used...
I advise against the chalk lines. I done this one time and I had chalk lines show thru on the edges. If over spray don't matter use a picture and do your best. I painted many things and only did the chalk 1 time with less than favorable results. Not my truck, do as you wish. Have a Great Day.
While everyone was sitting in the house because it was too cold to come out, I was out working on the trailer chassis. I made brackets and assembled the mud flaps and anti-sail brackets. I used my Hi Lift jack to push out the left rear corner fender. I used a flat washer to secure the broken...
Yes, you can. I always use black last as the last color. And no need to tape anything when doing the black and brown.
