I have a Series 18 on one end of my truck and a factory 10K lb PTO on the other end. I think I'm qualified to weigh in here.
The electric is perfectly fine if it's what you have, but it's not comparable to the PTO. Less cable, way less duty cycle, the reliability issues inherent to electric...
They aren't making rules up-they're interpreting the rule differently than you'd like or differently than they should.
Don't take that as me agreeing with them or slamming you-I'm just saying that's how they see this issue.
Ask me about the EPA and "state waters". What constitutes state...
There's a lot to cover here.
First, what form did the police officer use for the "has been inspected by an officer and has been deemed a road-worthy vehicle in the state of Georgia" inspection? Because the only thing I've ever seen or heard a police officer do is a VIN verification. Most of...
If the data tag says 4K, I think it's '66-'68. Need the VIN. Probably starts with something like 0125-
25A alternator? Do you mean generator? The generators are 25A, the alternators are 60A.
I do. At least the Ga. Rally Facebook page. I post on the SS Facebook page but I'm not a mod or anything there (at least I don't think I am rofl).
I get rally Facebook page updates on my phone so answers and posts are responded to very quickly.
Thanks. I am still running on the original EG22 relay I installed at the time of doing this. I have inspected it a couple times and one time, there was some condensation in the plastic housing. I removed the cap that I had installed and put a downward facing pipe on it so it could breath...
Still looking for someone with a bracket that's in a parts truck that I can borrow. Only need it for awhile, it will be returned to you blasted and in primer, ready for paint and re-installation. I will paint it for you if you want.
It's a lot of work to get one of these out-the clutch pedal...
Good ventilation, lighting is very good (better in the summer), filtration is so-so.
I have access to a friend's booth now, so I can shoot in the winter and for show quality stuff, I can control environmental issues, like dust and bugs. If I ever had the money to put up a big shop, I'd try...
It's 383, the modern CARC replacement. It looks like it has a sheen because the Gillespie looks that way for awhile (a few months) until it fully flattens out.
Once it's been on for a bit, it is a surprisingly good match. It's a little smoother to the touch, but visually it's a very good...
I think that plate is more directed at payload capacities. A deuce on dualled 11:00's has so much more tire than the frame, axles, brakes, etc are good for that it wasn't even worth it to mark the dataplate with those capabilities.
Dualled 11:00s:
Ok, before I ask someone to take their truck apart, does someone have one of these that they've already removed and hasn't gotten around to installing it yet? I only need it for a month or so and I'll send it back ASAP, I promise.
Thanks
I have shot a fair amount of stuff in the last couple years and about 20% of it has been PPG DP40, which is kind of an industry standard but it's ferociously expensive.
The other 80% (including this axle) has been a local company, Southern Polyurethanes; they have a line of epoxy primers. I...
You can also buy 24087 from Midwest Military in an excellent catalyzed urethane mix. The Gillespie is cheap and easy to shoot, but it's a single part alkyd enamel. IMHO it's a cheap, low quality paint (and before anyone thinks I am slamming their vehicles, 2 of my personal vehicles are painted...
Even though this is a closed thread, I want to add this info so that anyone searching who ends up here has an answer:
Official 17GMVR dates are Oct. 18-22, 2017.
OK folks, I apologize for this taking so long. Everything I do with Durhamtown I do via email so that I have a complete, 100% record of what was discussed and sometimes this makes things challenging.
Per D-town's email, official dates for 17GMVR are Oct. 18-22, 2017. I will update my...
