Well, @Tracer, the answer is not yet.
I ran a few errands on Sunday and planned to stop by the M810 for some pictures. As I got close, it started pouring (remnants of Hurricane/TS Hanna). There’s something about this truck and heavy rain. On the flip side, it’s still dry inside the water...
Sure, I get that two new toilets will fit in the back of your Deuce for the ride home, but what are you going to do with two new toilets in the guest bathroom? His and her thrones?
Oh yeah... and that is a great picture of a good looking Deuce!
@Phoenix77 - Your HMMWV has come a long way since you picked it up from Ft Bragg. It looks great -- a true testament to your time, skill and effort! Also, I really like how you were creative with your trailer. :grd:
Okay, to recap my posts in this thread, we know that I bought the M810 water truck from a friend of mine in May of this year. We also know that he kept the truck in a shed, and Wes hauled it home for me on a very rainy day. So what's the back story? Well, I'm glad you asked....
My friend...
First and foremost, THANK YOU to everyone that has already voted.
If you haven't voted yet, there's no time like the present!
Folks, Before yoU get settled in for the weekend, Make the time Please to vote for your favorite MV!
Okay, back to our regularly scheduled campaigning!
Hey TJ! Speaking of family, I hear congratulations are in order! I’m looking forward to things getting back to normal-ish and doing lunch again with you and your new bride.
Stay safe!
A highlift jack (or something similar) may be helpful getting that trailer on your Deuce’s pintle hitch. My friend (who has 395’s on his Deuce) needed the highlift jack when he recovered his MKT. The jack stand on the trailer wasn’t tall enough (especially if it has sunk in the ground).
@TheQuaker, that’s awesome! Thanks for posting the info on and pictures of your Deuce! My Deuce is a REO also, but that’s a conversation for another time and thread. What documentation do you have that shows it’s a 1952 model?
Here’s a picture of my Deuce hanging out with the M810 water truck.
Well, I’d agree... you are definitely due for a set of tires on the Deuce!
You’ve got a unique idea for paint on the 5-ton. I bet it will come out good.
I’ll give you a shout this weekend to catch up.
Challenge accepted!
I bought the M810 from a friend of mine, and he kept it under cover in a shed. Here is a picture of the M810 in my buddy’s shed before I bought it. As you can tell by the dust, the heavy rain did it some good.
Tracer, what can I say, you do have good taste! I am fond of the Deuce!
Oh yes, the story and more pictures of the M810 are forthcoming as the voting continues. And, yes, it does have the gas engine pump. While I’ve got you waiting in suspense, here’s a teaser >>>
Yikes! An awesome M38, a great looking Deuce and one heck of a 5-ton earning its keep! And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a HMMWVs with a kid! This is some steep competition!!!
Folks, don’t overlook the lil’ ol’ M810 water truck!
Wes helped me recover this truck two months ago on a day that...
