    M35a2 deuce headlights

I have a thread on LED options. Do NOT get the oracle. I've laid out why in my thread. Basically, don't get anything with multiple emitters that are bare (no optics), or behind poor optics. Best bet is something that has either projector optics, or Trucklite style. Both are readily available...

LMC Truck Head light circuit mod questions

Emitter, yes. NOT housing, which has cooling/heatsinks. I can tell you that my headlights were not even warm after driving with them on all day... and my previous pair (not the ones I linked to) DID get coated with snow/ice during a moderate downfall, which had me stopping every couple miles...

LMC Truck Head light circuit mod questions

If you're in an area that gets any snow, you'll want heated lenses. Very few aftermarket LED headlights have heated lenses, and they otherwise don't produce enough heat to melt snow/ice. I got projector LED headlights, and they're amazing... before the truck got wrecked...

    govplanet

It's only tax fraud if the sole purpose is to evade taxes. If there is another lawful purpose, it's not illegal. There are other legal entities that exist outside of corporations and LLCs that allow such titling and registration, legally.

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

You do NOT want to be woken up by a bunch of 50 cal ammo cans and 120mm mortar cans, flexing due to temperature/pressure changes.... Been there, done that, got the T-shirt... and the adrenaline fueled sleepless nights after being woken up by them...

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

I was just using that as an example, showing how easy weight/price could be calculated. I have no clue what current pricing is, but getting prices helps everyone, even in different parts of the country.

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

So, let's say I wanna make a cube, with 4ft sections... using 1" x 1" - 0.065" wall 6063 Aluminum square tubing.. Each 4 ft section would weigh 1.09 lbs. I'd need 12 of them to make a cube. I have no clue what the current rate is, but let's say $4.50/lb for aluminum (1.09 * 12) * 4.50 =...

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

Family run business, Asian ( I wanna say Korean?), former military IIRC. Sooooo nice to walk in and say 'I need N X tubes Y long, 4 16ga sheets A by B, etc... and have them cut it, put it on a scale and say '$37.50' or whatever. Since the weight of these materials is known, you can do your...

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

Interwest metals 2208 Pacific Hwy E, Fife, WA 98424 Charges a flat price per lb, for whatever you get. Stainless is one price, aluminum is one price, mild steel is one price. So, doesn't matter if you get 3 - 10ft pieces of square tubing, and 6 sheets of 16ga, it'll all be based on weight...

    Battery charger install question

He got a dual bank charger. They isolate the banks. He should have no issue connecting them. They should NOT have a common ground. The last one I used, from that manufacturer, and that configuration, had isolated banks, and charged them with no issue.

    Fuel issues

Edit. I had the deuce fuel tank capacity in my head. All CUCVs except m1009 had ~20 gal tanks, so take the tank rate I posted and divide it by 2.5 or 3 and it'll be accurate.. heh.

    Fuel issues

From personal experience, using TCw3, in all my CUCVs, and my M934 (Cummins 14L), there is a big difference in noise between treated and un-treated fuel. I'm not a chemist, nor will I pretend to be, but I've run them without TCw3, and having dumped TCw3 into the tank while the engine is running...

    Fuel issues

TCW3 will increase lubricity. There are others, and a report was made which shows what improves lubricity the most.... Biodiesel and Optilube XPD were #1 and #2 respectively, but they can be expensive, and TCw3 brought the fuel into the wear specification range. Optilube XL is a newer product...

    SF97

Vermont doesn't require a Vermont address. Neither did WA... I used my current address at the time, which was in another state. At no point did I lie on ANY form or application. Nor does he have to. This is no different than domiciling in a state, but driving around the country for the entire...

    SF97

You accuse me of fraud? You've gotta be kidding me, right? You do realize there are many legal ways, and reasons to get a title in another state. Company's, trusts, etc. GL got the SF-97s issued through the fedgov. They're no longer affiliated with fedgov for vehicles, thus they have no way to...

    TechnoWeenie Educational Series - Insulation

Often misused products There are quite a few products that are misused.... Reflectix.. Reflectix is a metallicized film merged with bubble wrap, that's designed to act as a reflector and air barrier. This product needs an air gap to work properly. If it's directly attached to metal...

    TechnoWeenie Educational Series - Insulation

Vapor Barrier A vapor barrier is one of those things that not a lot of people know about, or may have heard of it but don't fully understand it. It's actually quite simple. A vapor barrier is designed to prevent the transfer of moisture. Generally, you want to keep moisture out, while...

    TechnoWeenie Educational Series - Insulation

Intro.. Here I'll go over the basics of insulation. This is designed to be a general guide, and won't cover every aspect. There are other things to consider, like condensation, water vapor, thermal breaks, etc. that will come into play. You'll find that insulation needs will vary based on...

All Military Vehicles banned from road in Maryland

It's more common with trailers, whose serial numbers are usually 4 or 5 digits. Try registering a trailer, and having the same serial number reported as stolen in 3 different states.... Having a different manufacturer, should fix any issues. MVA, like most gov't run systems, is absolute crap...
