Brave soul saved himself a few bucks and fixed that darn loose tie rod end with a clamp he had setting around. God bless him. That is just down right genius and repurposing at it's best. Gotta Love it.
Have you ever pressure tested the cooling system? Is it possible that a slight head gasket leak is making a noise. I mean I had them that the head gasket had a weak spot at the compression ring. My issue with diagnosis on this truck is that so many things were done to it and so many things...
My experience has been the throttle shaft seals are a band-aid on the real issue. The real issue is the entire injection is in need of rebuilding. I see this dance around the injection pump many times. Just do it go over the entire fuel system right up front and move on for many miles to come...
To each his own. Kids are great. They grow up fast and move on. Later more come and they are the ones to try and spoil. Good Luck. It looks great and I am picky. All stock look isn't for everyone. Nice job. What paint did you use?
Drivers door same song and dance. I dug and ground out all the seam sealer on the edges and thoroughly inspected the seams. They are clean doors considering this M1009 was built in 8/83 that makes it 38 years old. Not bad. I also think it has a very low production number and it had chrome...
I started with the right door. Only because it was the closest one. I made a nice soft surface to set the door down so I could spin it and sand it from 1 side. Harbor Freight blankets. The bottom edge. I was done with that and sanded the entire inside and window frame. Onto the left door. 2...
After my successful run at getting the locked up Honda engine running I was feeling like working on my project. Any step forward is a step in the right direction. I am proud of my Genuine GM sheet metal and the mud and dirt from Folk Polk are still under the fender after 26 years of being stored...
After being in on the chair since Monday I decided to therapy myself back at the job. First thing was the Honda engine. It was FREE and that is always good. It was scrapped and supposed to be locked up. It was locked up all right. It was upside down and on its side a few times. When I picked it...
I have not lost my mind. When I say inner fenders I am referring to the inside of the drivers fenders. I never sand inner fender aprons. I scuff over them and coat the with Rusfree undercoating or opt to get them professionally powder coated. I had these original GM inner fenders powder coated...
I have been off sick again. I went a was retested at the managements request. Even the Dr's are tired of testing people over and over again. I mean 2 years ago people got sick they got better. I was at 2 rock concerts and I was exposed to many germs. I tested negative and am sitting it out in...
NOT at all. I don't care if I sell them or NOT. I will use them on my many on going projects. I am just pointing out that I seen the knock offs and they are not what I would use on my M1009. I mean I have a choice of stock GM rally wheels and still opt for the original M1009 wheels. Say what you...
Hey like I always say. You Can Do IT. you proved that already. I use a 15mm swivel socket or a 12 point box wrench. Just give it a slight twist. Good Luck.
It only costs a few dollars more to get the 100% authentic no questions ask original. I have a few of them if anyone ever gets the urge. Stock GM M1009 wheels with the hub cap notches. Good Luck with the Korean wheels.
This may be a dumb question but have you tried changing the injection pump timing? I would try that. Move it to the drivers side 1 or 2 line thicknesses and give it a try. What could happen? At this pint you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Just put it back if it don't help. But I...
You are missing the adapter. And I would just stick with the NP208 transfer case. They hold up well. Most NP205 were used for the PTO capability. I will PM you. I have the adapter also.
I have everything you need. I will get a shipping price on the crossmember and skid plate. Lets move our dealing to PM going forward. Click on my user name CUCVRUS and follow the instructions. Thank you. I have the drive shafts also. I will PM you here immediately. Be Safe.
These rear mounts on the back frame of the M1009. Many are rusted off the frame and the rear threshold is completely rotten and weak. Check it out.
I edited this post because the top picture is NOT a CUCV but it is the similar set up with the bottom washer mount and upper steel rubber isolator...
