There still using the "felt liners" which I really don't like, but it keeps the sound down which is their whole purpose. Hard to clean though. The rears are still steel though.
I already added a MAG-HYTEC rear axle cover to mine. Next comes the MAG-HYTEC for the Allison which I already bought...
To bad you don't have a fuel pressure gauge installed. That would tell us immediately if it was fuel starvation. Since you know the Hydraulic Head is leaking fuel that is where I would start.
Also when you had the fuel tank pump out, did you replace the rubber fuel hose then ? They can develop...
The Allison AT540 series transmission is a great transmission. It has been working in trucks since 1970 now. The main reason they fail is lack of proper maintenance. This is the main reason most equipment fails. Since they are such a good transmission and are very strong, most people tend to...
The lock-up is for fuel mileage only. You can totally use a standard AT540 transmission if you so choose.
You can also try calling "All Automatic" at 1-800-461-6839 .
I think that is the best idea letting a pro handle it. That is what I would do on such a sensitive area. The last thing you need is fuel leaking all over the place ! Mine was a bumper and who cares if it leaks.
OK, here's the pictures of the oil gauges, and some others.
Picture one shows the oil gauges. The top is "main oil pump" pressure, and the bottom gauge shows "regulated" oil pressure.
Picture two is a close up of the main oil pressure gauge.
Picture three is a close up of the regulated oil...

What year is it ? Does it have a newer air-shift transfer case or the old "Sprag" type transfer case ? If the later the sprag might be bound up. After all these years it will need a lot of persuading to move.
Buy a quality plastic welder and lots of extra plastic rod to practice with. I bought a medium quality one which worked OK, but for quality work I needed a better welder. Also you will need lots of practice to get a good weld. I spent a lot of time with mine to finally get the quality and look I...
You might have a stuck regulating valve. The stock oil pump will put out 120 PSI at start-up. Then the regulating valve drops it back down to around 30 to 40 PSI . I have two sets of gauges. One reads the true oil pump pressure and the second the regulated pressure. At start-up on cold days the...
Interesting reads both, but neither really delved into the top watches. The top was "Hamilton" followed by "Waltham" then "Elgin" . Hamilton was bought by a Swiss company in 1969 and is still made today.
A excellent book to read about watch repair is "The Watch Repairer's Manual" by Fried. Get...
For one the transmission is an automatic in the A3 so you need a different PTO. Second, the winch is Hydraulically driven. No shaft like the regular deuces. So you will need hydraulic hoses and valves. Third, you will need the actual A3 winch or adapt a regular deuce winch to use a hydraulic...
