Folks, on the back of the 3053 tranny in the wrecker, there is a boss thats tapped 7/16X14. It needs to be 1/2X13. It's a blind hole. Is there enough material to drill and tap this?
While sitting idle in a small one seat room this morning, I was looking over the Austin Western produced manual for the M108 and M62. It has load charts for both trucks. I found that the 20,000# that the 5 ton was rated at lifting was only if the boom jacks were supported to the back of the...

RE: Hmmwv
Speaking of Ma Deuces, wonder what one of them there replicas cost? I'm thinking Jon Shoop makes the composite ones but I've also heard of people putting them together using kit guns with non-op recievers. Anyone know?
Folks, I have a pair of yellow headlights in my M275A2. High beams and low beams work fine. These have douglas connectors on them. As cool as they are, they aren't that great for night driving and should be on something restored to that era. I would love to swap these for some H4s if anyone...
I talked to Matt in Live Oak last night. He bought 2 of the flood trucks from LA in the first sale with them and he's got them home. He was saying that one of the trucks was cleaned after being submerged and it looks pretty good. He's draining everything now to give a better assessment of the...
I made this up nearly a year ago and just conned Dman into doing the little weld required. Its more of a safety thing in case its parked on a hill and someone bumps the handle but visually may deter somebody. The thing was made from one of the uprights that hold the front of the pioneer rack up...
RE: SeaBee logo on the pocket
Amanco, do you know the numbering system for the Seabees trucks? I'm told the first 2 numbers denotes the type of truck it is. This true? My NMMCB74 pipeline truck started with 95.
Anyone thiink this can be fixed? Anyone capable? Don't ask, it was a stupid mistake on my behalf. Good thing is you can get to both sides. Bad thing is you can see both sides.
Anyone have any construction machines? Would love to see some pics of dozers, graders, etc. Did the military ever use little skid steers such as the Bobcat?
The following attachment is from TM 9-2320-209-34-2-1. This is the commonly available TM in PDF format that has rebuilding instructions for the air pack. The attachment is a page right from that TM. The "Note" at the top explains the difference between the piston cup and pushrod seal. The TM...

The last few days of driving the M275A2 around I noticed that the brake pedal was hard to push. Felt almost like it had no brakes. Once you really started pushing it was like something broke free, the pedal would fall a bit and the brakes would jamb on. It was near impossible to make a smooth...
I ran out of fun things to do this afternoon so I tried this. The little guy is stouter than I thought. manual says the 715 weighs 5500#. The wires look much closer than they are.
Yesterday I set out to replace the wheel cylinders on the M108 with units I previously rebuilt. Since I was down to the backing plates I decided to pull it down the rest of the way and do the boots since there was almost nothing left. On of the band clamps was broken from a poor installation so...
I've been sneaking up toward completing a total brake restoration on the M108. So now all the rear wheels are done and I'm preparing to start on the fronts. The M108 is 53 yrs old so I knew that the front brake hoses would need to be replaced. There is a section in the 361-20 that deals with...
