There is a 1/4" NPT plug under the oil filter housing that is the actual oil pump pressure. I have tapped into that along with the one on the passenger side which is pressure reduced. That way you can tell if the pressure valve is working properly.
The main galley pressure is around 100 PSI...

Like I mentioned earlier. I don't know the actual size of the Gillig sway-bar. I just assumed it was 1.5" . It very well could be the 1.67" that "JonMolander" measured. That is why I said to get a hold of Gillig to find out.

I agree with all comments here. Your really just "rolling the dice" on an engine that has redlined like that. Bent push-rods come from valves hitting the pistons. Period. So we know you hit all six pistons, two severely enough to brake the lifters ! That means you can have severe damage not only...

You don't want to remove the rod if it is moving freely. What you might have to do is remove the "Hydraulic Head" to see if the push button has fallen off the (what I call ) the compression rod. It is the rod that actually pressurizes the fuel. Go to the posts that "porkysplace" mentioned. There...
That is a "Welch" plug (freeze plug) that was modified to allow the horn wires to go through the steering box. You will need to reinstall that plug and pipe assembly. It is hammered in, so you will need some sealant and a punch and hammer to reseat it.

Like I said before, they have to do with the ability of the Tanks to land on beaches which at times means running under water for short periods of time. There should also be a "hand pump" by the gunners station which fills a rubber bladder under the turret.
