    CTIS 5 flashing lights

I may not understand the CTIS operation, nor the pnuematic issues well. Though perhaps the issue is between the supply tank and PCU, not between PCU and tires?

FMTV A1 - Relay that Identifies Engine is Running

Are we comparing STC (Standard Test Conditions) rating as panels are sold or NMOT (Nominal Module Operating Temperature) rating as they more likely perform real world? The STC rating for these 5 LG panels appears to be 2,200W. The NMOT rating appears the be 1,670W. If he mounts them with air...

FMTV A1 - Relay that Identifies Engine is Running

You rewired the 12v feed to the PDP to run off 24 to 12 converter? I like that idea, keeping the alternator all on 24v, right? Which converter and where did you locate it?

The things I learned while rebuilding my CTIS

The front tires have a different 90º angle connection with the slot so that the front tires may be lowered independent of the rear tires for air transport. If you do not need to air transport your vehicle it is considered good practice to replace these kneeling valves with non-kneeling valves...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Confirmed we can easily fish wires through the 'A' pillar instead of running several up where they look ugly. Unless you want pictures of a blank interior 'A' pillar nothing to see. Move along, move along—

Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

I have not driven the 3.07's. I love the changes Eco Hubs made to our M1078A1: significant noise reduction, simpler wheel hubs, less gear lash and loss of efficiency, more pep, smoother gear changes and lower rpm's at speed. The 3.07's only offer the last, and marginally. In the exhibit below...

Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

I was of the same mind and even did up a spreadsheet on the crawl ratios to compare 3.90's, 3.07's, 3.90's with EcoHubs, and 3.07's with Eco Hubs. I too like that my current Wrangler has 1:86 crawl ratio in 4Low first gear. What pushed me over the edge to 3.90's with EcoHubs is the torque...

    LMTV Question

I started with the idea of doing just this with a 19' or 20' Bambi or Caravel. Then I found the RV Globe Trekker flat pack kits and torsion free frames. Still haven't pulled the trigger though like the idea of staying with all my work and quality as opposed to stapled together. One debate I...

WHO' S A FULL TIME LMTV OVERLANDER, ANY OUT THERE?

Hmmm. That's what I was thinking until my brothers pointed out that most states require modulated and break-away brakes on any towed unit over 3,000#. In Texas its 4,500#. After reading the Texas code the only exception appears to be when the towed vehicle is a commodity. That's how those...

DynaMat glued to the doghouse, DynaCore glued to DynaMat and itself. We taped the DynaCore seams, though that didn't work well, so pulled it out. It seems fine for now. She is much quieter, doing the inside is going to make her purr—
