Did anyone find the Wabco part number for the M-1078 treadle valve repair kit? I think the whole assembly is WABCO 461 315 161 0 , but I want the rebuild kit. I don't find it anywhere on the FMTV forum even though there are many
references to the treadle valve.
Mine is leaking and I'm a...
Sounds normal to me. I'm on an extended drive and for several days at 90+ temp, westbound so the sun is on the front, pushing 50 mph, the fan cycles just like yours. However our gauges read a little differently. My temp gauge shows 200 when the fan kicks in and it drops somewhat below that...
I have been doing some LMTV tire work recently and used this tool:

I agree, George. That's an absolutely horrible place for an air intake, but a wall might help a little. With 'engineering' like that, what other build decisions would be suspect?
While looking up some parts for the distribution panel, looks like the whole panel is made up of building-block components by Dill Blox, the same company that makes the diode modules on the PDP.
These components are listed in their on-line catalog...
Searching is good.......but.......there are layers of knowledge on newer surplus, like FMTVs. Looking at threads from 3 or four years ago will give misleading or blatantly wrong information. Over the years the 'opinions' change and the answers become more correct. Getting an updated...
The IP probably bypasses back to the tank. I primed my truck without opening a vent (didn't know about it yet) but will use the vent next time. I left the filters slightly loose until pumped full. For reference, it took about 30 pumps to fill the (dry) Raycor pre-filter, and another 30 pumps...
I have not re-keyed my cab so had no way to lock it. The door handles seemed so fragile to be used as locks. An alternate means of locking the doors was preferred because if the door handles are locked and some *&^%$ perp decided to pry it open, those $600 handles would get trashed.
Not...
Aleigh,
I also bought a replacement controller, NOS, same p/n 12378682, and same mfgr 1MVZ1-673204, as your new one. It behaves exactly like your description: Plug it in, power up truck, and CTIS lights blink once, then nothing.
A local guy with an LMTV let me plug his controller into my...
The exhaust manifold gasket on the 3116 CAT of my '94 LMTV was leaking. I noticed exhaust tracks in front of number 1 port, then at number 6 also. Apparently the 3116 manifold is prone to warping, according to the shop who did the work. The manifold was surfaced and reinstalled with new...
Looks like a great solution. I want to do the same thing on my LMTV to pull a 25 ft camper trailer, tongue weight only 500 lbs, and an 18 ft equipment trailer, tongue weight about 1000 lbs.
I have never used a 'cushioned' hitch. That is a good idea. My other hitches rattle badly on big...
LeTourneau was a huge manufacturer of heavy equipment and blades. Search 'letourneau dozer blade' and images. I see that exact setup on the Forestryforum, for example.
D4's like that, with that cable blade(!) were used for building the Alcan highway. They did the lighter work and D7's the...
This is a 'gee whiz' fact about the FMTV's. Add other notes to this thread if you like:
I had a funny event this morning (funny looking back on it). I wanted to check the engine oil in a flat place, not like where I park, so I coasted down to a low spot on the driveway.
Got out, walked...
