    LDT-465 rebuild

I forgot the rod bolts. I am so used to sending rods out to have them "rebuilt" (resized, rod bolts replaced, etc.). You may find buying new rod bolts to be difficult enough that buying new rods is a better bet (but let your machine shop balance them obviously). In terms of breaking it in, if...

    LDT-465 rebuild

I'd buy a new cam and lifters. You obviously will have the crank checked and turned/polished if necessary. I'd have the reciprocating assy. balanced. I've never paid attention to the multifuel harmonic balancer, but if it's like everything else and has a rubber ring holding the two halves...

Who's going to the Fla Southern Outpost Rally?

Thanks, that's very kind. Well, we won a crap ton of stuff at Eglin (clintogf should have bought a dually instead of her wimpy 2500 ) so we're trying to decide if we do a "hit and run" and grab our stuff at Eglin and head home, or do we turn it into a long weekend and come to the show...

    M35A2 Power Steering Question

No. 5ton stuff (M39/M809/M939) stuff is way too big. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?15916-Power-steering-for-the-Deuce There are more or less, 3 different things you can do. The air assist kits from the M44A3, M35-tom's excellent hydraulic box kit...

A bit of oil in my M35A3 coolant

I have an unusual case. Drained the coolant from an A3 with reasonably low hours and mileage (500 hours, 5K miles app.) and oil is in the coolant. So I assumed head gasket, oil cooler, etc. Continued to drain fluids (this is a full service job) and the engine oil was exactly the right amount...

    m38a1 '52 front floor pan

Zout said it all but I'll add that removing the tubs is really easy and will allow you to properly repair and paint the tub and the paint on the frame will be much nicer.

Who's going to the Fla Southern Outpost Rally?

Clintogf is trying to talk me into us coming to this event. We just took a 1300 mile trip to Ohio so I guess she's ready to try it again. How good is this event?

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

That thing is AWESOME! I love the WWII cab-over-engine trucks. I'd love to have a GMC AFKWX (it's like a COE CCKW). What a neat and rare ride-I can't wait to see it.

Mule 1st year Gov used elec starter

There were a few mules equipped with a factory electric start but they're pretty rare. I'd bet 99% of the mules you see at events have been added. Here are a few threads from the G discussing the electric start and the battery boxes...

Make sure to point it where it's okay for lots of fuel to go. Don't ask me how I figured this out.

Mule 1st year Gov used elec starter

Are you asking what the first year was that the military bought mules with electric starters? I think it's either '68 or '70, on a few A5's. I do not think there were very many factory electric start mules. If you're trying to copy the factory style, there's a box that mounts on the steering...

Where is the best place to get a m35A2 front windshield and frame?

For at least the last 7 or 8 years, the only new ones available from anyone or anywhere have been the Korean ones. They're actually made for the Kia-built M35 replicas that are made for the South Korean military. I think the only way you're gonna' buy American windshields would be to find some...
