Also keep in mind the main power cable had a cable clamp holder and a clip on the oil pan that held it away from getting in harms way. I mean at this point in time it could be anything. But I think that is where your problem is. Has the starter been off recently? Is the support bracket in place...
I am thinking the main power wire running to the starter has grounded out and may be worn/burnt or shorted at the starter. Disconnect that cable at the buss bar and see if you problem still exists. I seen some shabby main starter cable attachments many times. That key slot on the main starter...
You are referring to the printed circuit board on the back of the cluster. You can still buy that from LMC. The one with the idoit lights fits the CUCV. Good Luck.
What circuit board are you referring to? Are you talking fuse box or cluster assembly. Unclear what you are referring to. Post some pictures as reference.
That is not a stock injection pump. I would try a torx 25 or 30 tamper resistant. But IMHO you are avoiding the inevitable. And let me warn you. They are 10/24 threaded screws and they are steel. If you strip them or break them off the injection pump may be an unsalvageable core. I had one that...
Hey get an M10 flange nut on that Gen 1 alternator brace. What's a few horse power between friends? At this point a few of the horses have died off and ran away. I once was more powerful now I just idle better. Wide open I leak and burn oil. Take Care and Be Safe.
Honestly the brake system can be completely rebuilt for about $300. You can buy rebuilt calipers, master cylinder, wheel cylinders and the brake hoses. If it were me at this point I would replace all of them and have lifetime warranty parts and sit back and drive on. I do it to every CUCV I...
I have one mounted on an M1009 roof. I can get pictures for you if you are interested. I will sell it because I have no use for it anymore. It is a very well made one and is aluminum. I have the top with the factory civilian black glass and the rear gate glass in mirror black also. the gate...
Do the dash cluster lights work? If they do the cluster is grounded somewhere. I was pointing you in the direction of the sending unit. Check and make sure that has a constant ground. The wire that hooks to the ground at the E Brake has a female spade connection. Look up under there is it...
Fuel gauge is more then likely the ground on the drivers side rear frame section. Upper frame flange. It has a 5/16" self tapping bolt and a star washer. Remove that bolt clean the frame and reinstall. Also check and see if the wire is still attached to the fuel tank sending unit. That wire was...
They are noise filters for the military radio. They are NOT needed for the wipers to work. If they were eliminated they were an issue. Discard them. Happy Thanksgiving.
This always the same dance around the injection pump. I dealt with enough of these and it makes perfect sense to just change it with a fresh dated rebuilt one and live happily ever after. I feel like a broken record giving the same advice but it seems to heal a lot of ill's. It's a cost thing...
Mileage has no value at this point. things just wear out and go bad setting and doing nothing. I would replace the lift pump first and double check the hoses and clamps front to back. If that don't solve it time to drop the fuel tank and replace the sock filter in the tank. I had people tell me...
