    MPG vs HP Compromise

They truly don’t need the air foil. Before I decided to put my mini split A/C unit in the middle behind the cab just above the roof line. I was concerned going 60 mph that the wind blowing into it would cause problems manly because the directions say not to allow more than a 10 mph wind to blow...

    MPG vs HP Compromise

I bought my 2003 M1078A1 5 years and have driven it over 5,000 miles. 2,000 miles at top speed of 58MPH and RPMs screaming at you with the original gears and got 3.5-4 MPG. I changed the ring and pinions out added a rear locker and had CAT reprogram it to 330 HP. Driven it with this...

New ECM and now No start....Please Help!

Has anyone purchased that laptop and data port from kt3406e? I’m seriously considering it. If it is everything he says it is it would be a great tool for someone like me that does all of my own repairs.

New ECM and now No start....Please Help!

My ECM failed me as well years ago. At that time I couldn’t find anyone that I trusted to do the repair so I bit the bullet and purchased a new one from CAT and then it was on them to program it at they even upped my horse power to 330. Any ways it might just be they didn’t fully repair your...

    Aluminum wheels

For the large oring for the two wheel halves I ended up canceling the McMaster order because of the lead time and because when I received the new ones from Hutchinson it appears they are using a different compound the the original orings which took on the shape of the wheel. My guess is the...

    Aluminum wheels

Go on McMaster Carr site and look at o-rings. They do a great job a describing the different materials and application. Then pick based on your conditions such as needs to be gas resistant or heat resistant and so on.

    FMTV High Speed Gears

Set up bearings are also very useful. In my local town I’m the guy everyone wants to have do there ring and pinion set up for their Jeeps. Been doing them for over 20 years. But those are new gears with new bearings and shim kits. I would be nervous about doing these gears not having spare shims...

How do you make a LMTV NOT suck in the snow?

Yea, yea I live in Florida! But I was rock crawling Jeeps on 33”, 35” and 37”back before it became a trend in the mid 1990’s but airing the tires way on slick wet rocks is what got you up and over them. I would laugh at the people that didn’t understand it. It’s not so you can float on the...

How do you make a LMTV NOT suck in the snow?

Sorry bagging the tires, just means lowering the tire pressure so low they start to bag….like 8 -10 psi. Don’t worry you have beadlocks so the tires are not coming off the rim.
