I've never had an A3, so I don't know how they are (air or hyd. pressure switch) but after my experience with the '87-'89's, I assumed the military did the air pressure activated switch MWO sometime in the interim between the end of A2 production and the end of A2 usage in the service(s).
I...
My '87 A2C has 2 short airpacks and it uses the old style hyd. pressure switch. 2 other '87-89 USAF's I've had were the same way. So they were using the old style switch right up to the end.
I am happy to announce that the time has come for the 2013 Steel Soldiers Georgia Rally info thread!
There is one big change-although I am going to maintain a behind the scenes hand on the rally, this year, Swiss is going to be the leader. Last year, I worked myself to death running the...
1. I would have no problem with 20 psi @ idle hot. Did older stuff run lower pressures at hot idle? Not sure, although I've had plenty of stuff that ran forever with low pressure. As long as you have enough pressure to create the hydrodynamic wedge that "floats" the crank in the bearings...
Doghead's method will work, I've used it before when I ran into your problem.
Also, you can verify you are correct on the bottom adjustment by removing the access plate from the outside of the drum, rotating the drum down to the bottom of the shoe and watching the bottom of the shoe move in and...
Not sure how far Oakland is from Annapolis, but this is the guy you want to talk to:

Bought this deuce, the duals were dirty and I couldn't get them clean enough in the area between the inner and outer.
So I pulled them all off and cleaned them This made me feel better, but I went ahead and serviced all the rear hubs. I guess they needed to be clean too.
Debated whether to put this here or here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?8460-Front-axle-seals-and-boots-stepXstep&p=94509&viewfull=1#post94509 but since this thread is more specific, guess I'll put it here.
With the sheer number of deuces I was doing, I got tired of doing...
There are 2 styles of handbrake cables on the M105 family of trailers, to go with the two different handles.
The M104 handles are turned around backwards, they face downward, so that when the front tailgate is lowered, it doesn't hit them handles.
I have never seen an M104 in person, so I...
Welcome to the site, AW.
Good on you, MW Mules. That's the right way to grow the hobby and create good pr.
I have to say, it feels good to help someone out.
That's really nice, looks really good and I am kind of a purist so that's high praise. You guys work fast too. I'd still be unloading it.
<p>
Clever use of the tranny jacks.

One question: What is your plan for side racks / cargo cover? I suppose if you want them they'll have to be...
I was going to say the same thing, but if he plans to pull something up into the bed, this method won't work.
If this is a off-roading/recovery type winch, then do what firefox said and if you're really clever, you can add a fairlead to the rear of the bed (to the right of the trailer plug...
