PM ferro, he has my M116 taking an MEP002 off of it. He should be able to take measurements that will get you very close! I know it's not done yet because he has two other high priority projects - Bella and Peck's welder/generator - to finish up with first.
Complete NOS replacement deuce master cylinders are available from several people here on steelsoldiers for under $75, shipped. The major vendors have rebuild kits. The hardest part of doing work on the master cylinder is removing and re-installing the two frame side bolts that hold it in...
Fuel gauges are made from ground up politicians, they lie all the time! Get a yardstick that you can dip into the tank. Full is within two inches of the top and empty is three inches from the bottom (to allow the pump to pickup the fuel). Check every 100 miles and you will get a good feel for...
Get your money back from the person who sold it to you. Misrepresentation on their part, since the SF-97 is not in their name and thus there is no title. SF-97 is a government form to OBTAIN a title on former government vehicles, not a title in and of itself.
35 Scepter fuel cans, about new condition. $50 for one, 2 or 3 at a time $45 each, four or more at a time $40 each. At the Rally or local pickup before (if you think fuel prices are headed back up). Can also deliver gratis to the VA Rally over Labor Day weekend for the same prices.
I'm about to do this myself. However the body will be sitting on the M116 bed by way of a nine inch spacer (also known as a piece of a scrapped deuce frame). And the electric welder will not be in it, which will help on the tongue weight. Ferro has to get the MEP002 off the trailer, and I...
Original M35 had a gasser engine
M35A1 had the LD-427 or LDT-427
M35A2 had the LD-465 naturally aspirated or the LDT-465 (C or D turbo, C whistles, D produces more power by a little bit - more of a luck of the draw as to which)
5 ton series had the LDS-465, with about 50 more HP and more...
I know someone who has cable on a reel with that type of plug on it. He was going to throw it out till I told him someone would probably purchase it at the GA Rally. He drove one of my trucks to the rally last year and wants to come again this year.
Fuel goes to the IP first and the pressure gets boosted for a trip through the last two filters, then back to the IP into the HH and on to the injectors.
Sounds like the gauge and the sensor are not matched properly. Check what the resistance is on the gauge at various temps and do the same on the sensor. Could be a bad wire or connection raising the resistance value that the gauge is reading. YMMV and someone who knows more will chime in shortly.
Download all the manuals from the 'deuce sticky section', esp. the manuals on the engine (troubleshooting guide). Having the IP pulled off is a very bad thing, somewhat equivalent to dropping the pan, lowering the crankshaft, turning it and then pushing it back up randomly on a gas engine. It...
