    M1078A1R Offroad Behavior/Question

Okay, thanks for the info, guess I won't worry about it and stay out of Mode as much as I can. Interesting that I didn't feel it at all going up, only back down. I guess it's just another of the semi-sorted design elements of these trucks:-) I really need to read the operators manual as well, I...

    M1078A1R Offroad Behavior/Question

Guys, this was a forward and back lurching, just like a 4x4 typically will with the center diff locked when in a full lock turn, which I wouldn't normally worry about. But in this case, there was a significant clunking noise with it that really sounded like binding u-joints. Didn't do it going...

    M1078A1R Offroad Behavior/Question

Top and bottom sway bar bushings are new. This was definitely something to do with a rotational drive component, ether in the front knuckles or possibly driveshafts as GD eluded to. I'm guessing you haven't experienced this with your truck off road?

    Good to know, thanks.

    M1078A1R Offroad Behavior/Question

I haven't had the driveshafts rebuilt yet, but have spoken to a shop about it. Plan do have it done when I get back from vacation and can get back on the list of stuff to do. Next up is the trans flush and convert to Transynd, so I'll pull both driveshafts and get them rebuilt and balanced. I...

    A Shocking thread, A1 Monroe 65456

I do plan to delete the springs first, but ultimately I will want, and need as the stock shocks will need replacement over time, new shocks. Already have Scheel-Mann seats :-)

    A Shocking thread, A1 Monroe 65456

I'm going to talk with these folks when I get back from my trip out to Montana and Wyoming. They're basically a go-between with King, but supposedly the guy that specs the shocks knows his stuff relative to HD applications like ours.

    M1078A1R Offroad Behavior/Question

Over the weekend I went to look at an M1079 van body for sale that was located on a very remote ranch. The road up to the ranch was tight, steep, loose rocky, rutted, and full of tight switchbacks. To be honest, it was getting close to about as much as I would want to do with my truck offroad...

    Petlas 395-85 R20 tires

No parking brake is completely failsafe when total neglect of maintenance has gone on for years. Wheel chalks are easy enough to carry as a back up.

Anyone look at the Bulldog HD1215-0126 yet?

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

I have the software, but pretty much gave up getting it to work because I don't have the aforementioned subscription. So, I'm just going to pay the local Allison distributor to do it. If someone knows how to get it working, a PM would be appreciated.

I was going to post the same thing, the parking brake system is fail safe, takes air pressure to release them. That’s why you need to carry caging bolts.

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

I’ve thought about having the programming changed to that scenario as well. Did you reprogram it yourself? I have the Allison software, but getting it to work is a challenge, and then there are so many options and how things are named isn’t intuitive relative to what it does.

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

Not sure when I’ll make it over there. It’s likely two visits for me since the tech thinks he’ll have to request the programming change from Allison. First visit will be him pulling the current programming from mine to send to Allison. I also have a spare TCM that I want him to clone once I get...

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

Contact info for the Allison distributor I'm talking to about some programming on my A1R. Tech in the shop I spoke with is Michael, super knowledgeable. Lynn Rumble Branch Manager 2195 Alpine Way Hayward , CA 94545 Lrumble@wwwilliams.com o...

Nice truck, would love to see some more photos of the front bumper mods.

    Petlas 395-85 R20 tires

Do you need good performance on snowy roads? When I was looking for tires for my Ram last time, Stazworks had new PS22’s at a great price.

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

Yeah, no doubt it's no super effective after the Eco hubs install, no fault of the hubs of course. The speed it will stay engaged to will depend on TC lockup, so my guess is the speed your exhaust brake is disengaging now is likely where the TC is unlocking.

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

Doubt you’ll get that. For trans health, exhaust brake requires TC lockup.

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

Allison can change the programing. I'm about to have some programing done to the TCM in my A1R. Happy to provide contact info for the Allison distributor/service center I'm dealing with. I'm in Norcal too and the Allison distributor I'm dealing with is in Hayward, so depending on where you are...
