So with a need of 20kw, 005a is rated at 30 3ph, do the dogleg wye mod and you get 27-28kw 1ph. Dogleg wye mod will only work on 12 wire generators. So no 8xx series.

I have told many people that you cant break it any more than its already broken, so you might as well learn something and maybe fix it. Even if you dont fix it, its not any more unserviceable than when you started.
take it to a oil heater shop, this is almost the same as a oil heater for the home, it uses like parts, but since its military its numbers wont match exactly.
lick your fingers and grab the output terminals? ahaha, i kid, i kid.

Did you remove the whole burner assy? or just the cover? If you removed the burner assy, check and double check the spark gap and alignment to the injector. When you say fuel but no spark, when you view the burner chamber thru the peep sight, you have no blue spark while in vent mode?
Check the flame sensor for proper alignment. The sensor is held in place with a rubber tube, tube gets hot, then cools down and pulls the sensor out of alignment. Not the greatest enginerding , had 1 heater that had to be re-engineered with plastic ties to keep it in place.
My guess is the pickup in the tank or something in the tank sucking up against the pickup. If the new fuel filter, and the fuel pump test ok, nest easy test is in tank.
I am 110% happy with every shipper I have used on UShip, they are just hardworking squirrels like us trying to get a nut, so if the rate seems cheap, kick them a little when they deliver. A 20 goes a long way with dirty old truck drivers.
its mounted on the inside, next to the switches.
the only way i know is with a clamp over dmm that has amp and put it on max hold. then its just a process of clamping over each wire on the junction block to find the one that is pulling the amps.
has that breaker been tripped alot of times...
maybe you need to send me one of your k8 so we can verify your heater isnt eating them. is your hour meter disconnected? if not, unplug it and the rectifier
