    M1009 Rebuilt IP problems

Do you have a connection going to your injection pump that looks like this? And is it getting fuel all the time? https://www.buyautoparts.com/blog/4-common-diesel-fuel-injection-pump-problems/

    M1008 acquisition and restore

https://www.justice.gov/civil/case/federal-odometer-tampering-statutes May I recommend getting a speedometer that has close mileage and noting the mileage that the odometer was replaced. Federal law requires that if the replacement odometer can’t register the same mileage as before, the...

Auxiliary LED Back up light help?

I don't know all the equations and other statistics. I have run standard 12 volt spotlights and a back up alarm on a CUCV plow truck for over 25 years without issues. A few had the common hot 30 amp fuse . I cut that wiring and put a circuit breaker in place. Also I did seal all the connections...

    M1009 Rebuilt IP problems

I would start by seeing if it is getting fuel to the out side line of the filter. If it were a truck brought to me I would start by removing everything that was not original. And from there I would trace the fuel lines. I would check them for leaks. No really I don't know where I would start on...

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

I would lube the fast idle adjustment and you can adjust the screw. That is what I am assuming you are calling the cold idle. Be Safe. Happy New Year.

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Sezzo I may entertain that thought. I think it is a great idea to just touch up the M1009 and fill in the paint as needed. It sure would look great and it would be one of the few I have ever seen with the original GM paint. And FYI. The factory GM paint is NOT CARC. But it looks great. The rear...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

OK. I am NOT sure how to write on the post after the pictures. But I done a lot of work in my barn during the past week. I have a lot more to go. Anyone have a source for Non-Vented CUCV coolant recovery tank? And looking at the pictures of Red Riding Hood. If I had it to do over again I would...

    M1009 Rebuilt IP problems

New cable. Where did you get a new cable? Is it a Genuine GM Cable. I heard of these problems with new aftermarket cables. Lay them side by side and compare. I think that may be where the problem is. Good Luck.

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

This is the first time in 20 years that I have everything in my center bay put away and the entire bay swept clean. I have been working in the barn all week cleaning, organizing and sorting thru parts. I have all the body parts on the second floor and neatly stored. I scrapped a few body parts...

    M1009 Rebuilt IP problems

Hard to tell from afar. Try and disconnect the throttle cable and start it. Does the throttle shaft return freely and open freely. Was it dropped and has a slight bend to it? How does it act with the throttle cable disconnected? Report back. Is this the first pump you ever changed? Diesel Care...

What do I need to check out when I have off my valve covers?

I never seen anything under there that needed replaced as a standard maintenance item. If the engine is running good I would just replace the valve cover gaskets. And I would do it with gaskets or with The Right Stuff from Permatex. Either way works. Getting it very clean and dry is key to good...

What do I need to check out when I have off my valve covers?

I am not sure what you would be looking for under the rocker covers. But if they are not leaking I would let them alone. When you have the intake off may I suggest you drain the cooling system and service the coolant manifold gaskets and the entire cooling system. Have the radiator checked and...
