I will try and help you. The track is in the tailgate. Right and left. easily removable after you disassemble the entire gate and remove the glass. Be Careful.

Welcome to my nightmare
I think you're gonna like it
I think you're gonna feel like you belong
A nocturnal vacation
Unnecessary sedation
You want to feel at home 'cause you belong
Welcome to my nightmare
Welcome to my breakdown
I hope I didn't scare you
That's just the way we are when we come...
It may be the M1009 K5 Blazer that do NOT have the HD embossed in the case. But I have removed them from truck models also that the HD letters were not present. Not sure of the logic. But the last 9 of the VIN are on the ear of the transmission. It was a match for the vehicle I removed it from...
NOT all CUCV's have that HD embossed on the transmission housing. I bought a new case in 1996 and GM must have know of a weakness in the tail flange section because the new replacement transmission case was twice as heavy in the rear flange section. And yes square body you have way too much slip...
Below I have posted a step by step pictorial on changing the stock wiper washer motor. May I also add that I recommend removing all the wiper linkage and using grease and oil on all the pivot joints. It makes a world of difference. Unless you like that squeaking , binding wiper sound during use...
Drill out those Mud Dauber nests. They are making it off balance. Them little wasps can bring down a plane. https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/05/06/wasps_force_two_passenger_jets_into_emergency_landings/
I had a balancer on a 6.2 that was solid mud and vibrated badly. The entire balancer was...
Try removing it and giving it a thorough cleaning. Then look it over carefully. If you see nothing broken or evident of wear. I would lube it up with oil. Not spray lube. Real oil. Clean it again and dry it thoroughly see if that cures the ills. If not there are many of these mechanisms...
I hope you are going to put a new front main seal in while you have that balancer off. where is the rubber falling out of the balancer? Asking because I never seen one go bad on a CUCV. Good Luck. Be Safe. Maybe I am NOT looking at the right place. And the machine shop told me they would sell me...
After work today I continued cleaning the garage and cut up 12 beer cases of scrap wood that I had been using and picked up in the barn bays. It was all sorts and the 4x4's that I used to do my cab offs and the M1009 body storage. I also went to Autozone and picked up my new WAI wiper motor. It...
Picked up the 1987 M1028. It passed with everything but 1 1156 B/U lamp bulb. Immortality. Ready for working again. I mean legally again. Have a Great Day.

I would have to agree with Rustystud. That sending unit looks a bit rough. Clean the contact for the pink wire also. But dropping that tank and doing a through cleaning is going to be a major task. Can be done but cleaning and painting/coating as you go is the right way to do it. Good Luck. Be Safe.
I have cut the nail heads on the back side of the backing plate. Also used a slide hammer on the hub. That is a whatever it takes job. Another reason I always replace hardware and lube or replace self adjusters that don't move freely. Can you keep the back end jacked up and spin the drum with...
The pan must come down. That is snapped in place from the inside. I can get a picture if you need a picture. I have a parts transmission. Somehow I just can't picture this transmission and transfer case worth anymore than parts. Shame it was just rebuilt last winter during plowing season. It is...
Not sure why that posted twice. I made the post and went to post and it was gone. This happened before. I rewrote the post and bam there it is again. it was NOT there when I looked after I posted it. Oh well same message just in different words. Still ended the same Happy Happy. Be Safe...
