Gas millage dropping down from 18 MPG to 15 MPG

There's debate about failing glow plugs causing decreased fuel economy as well, I don't think it would be as substantial as 3mpg seeing as they're only supposed to kick on upon startup and something like 3 minutes into cold idle, but maybe. Check the wheel bearings as well, and "goofy" stuff...

Flat towing Humvee with 40,000 lb military tow bar

Oh man...... It wasn't out of a 9C1 Caprice was it? I tried to use park to stop once, for about 10sec, before hitting my brother's truck and actually stopping.....

Flat towing Humvee with 40,000 lb military tow bar

Personally, for a thousand mile haul, I'd use a flatbed trailer. That's a lot of miles to be paranoid that a t case might somehow accidentally engage, or have the trans slip into gear, or whatever else Murphy can throw at you. If that wasn't an option, I'd follow the procedure in the TM, even if...

    Ukranian anti-drone cage for HMMWV

That's what happens when "Adapt or die" and "If it looks stupid, but it works, then it's not stupid" have a love child. I dig it

Turbo engine removal tool for pros or something better?

One of these setups will change your life, that's a Dayton 3ton chain fall and 3 16ft 4X6s holding 1100lbs of full dressed mercruiser 5.7. After pulling 3 engines with this setup, I'll never go back to cherry picking again.

Gov Planet fee increase for bidders

Nothing worse than legal scalping. How hard would it be to form an organization to give them some competition?

Mep 831a black smoke won't rev up and shooting flames out the exhaust

I want to say yes, because without a proper seal, air will be allowed in, but the other guys know a lot more than me. FWIW, copper washers are cheap and it definitely won't hurt to have a good one installed.

Seems like this is turning into a build thread.

Sometimes it's the little things..... 😆

Seems like this is turning into a build thread.

Would a new/stiffer steering stabilizer shock help the problem?

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

Page 15 of this thread has a reply from rusty that says around 800psi, checked by gauge. Glad you asked, I was curious too.

    79 a2 ignition wires 4 prong

I think you're reading them incorrectly, which happens to all of us lol. There aren't ones in front of your numbers, so what you're looking for are 17, 27, 18 and 74, which I have located on the diagram and am currently trying to condense the image to aid. Couple minutes and you should be set

    It followed me home. Honest...

That's an anti-theft device, like noted. Disconnect the ground, no power to system, harder to steal. Flip the switch, full power. I love mine.

    US Mail trucks

Apparently the contract has been awarded to Oshkosh Defense and the new vehicles should have started rolling out in June. Shame they don't auction the LLVs off, be a fun BBC project or big turbo 2.2. I would suggest contacting your local post office and see if maybe they can slip one out the...

Google says post offices scrap them instead of re-selling them.....:(.

    79 a2 ignition wires 4 prong

These guys beat me to it 😆. The wiring harnesses are sort of generic, in that there's many different M44 variants that use the same harness, so some wires literally DO go to nothing. Those CAD blueprints are your best shot for getting it right. Something worth checking into would be a keyed...

roll call of EXISTING Vietnam gun trucks

Would there be a way to tell if your truck was a gun truck (other than the obvious enclosure) that was repurposed down the line? I have some "interesting" scarring on my hard top that looks like someone welded a patch in, and more on the bed that looks like someone attempted to turn the hard...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - December VOTE HERE!

Me to me when the video started: "That snow doesn't look that deep..... How'd they get a grader stuck in it?" Me to me after the turnaround watching the rear axle sink: " Oh 😮" Great stuff!
