I spent the weekend lifting kids into my deuce for the annual "Touch a Truck" in Columbia, SC. I'll see the doctor about the right shoulder next week - in the meantime I have a large bottle of aspirin handy. Looks like those who were there had a good time. Maybe next year!
Well, the eight sided socket is bigger on a 105 trailer than a deuce, because I've had to remove and re-install one = see http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?98789-Replacing-brake-shoes
maybe someone else will chime in.
Those brakes had never been touched since the trailer was built, except to pull the parking brake cable out on that side. Only brake cylinder that had any fluid in it was the lower one on the other side. It's a real 'Aw Shucks' feeling when you crack, then completely unscrew the brake bleeder...
S-10 tank was used to 'fix' a local M-37. The main problem they had with it is that the original straps holding the new tank were too short and they had to use some replacement straps. Done in two hours, with four trips to the auto parts store for items needed (IE about half an hour of...
Nick,
Hope to see you at the VA Rally over the Labor Day Weekend. It's held at the Graves Mountain Resort in Syria, VA. The deuce is a bit big for the mountaintop trails, but you don't have to come in an MV to have fun.
Most of the non-commercial policies fall under the 'antique auto' genre, with a lot of restrictions on use. Now if you restore it to appear similar to how it was used in the military, inside and out, and you are not towing a trailer of any sort, then you can probably get insurance that will...
Encrypted radios will not be in working condition when released by the govt (and probably won't be in very good physical shape either as they will be crushed and chopped). CB radios operate on specific frequencies below 30 Mhz, modern military radios operate on much higher frequencies, and are...
Look at Roscoe's picture! That is the top of the aux fuel adapter! To get it off, you have to release the compression, and if it's been painted with it on there, twist a little to get it moving. Area shown in the OP's picture can hold both the fuel rods and the ground rods at the same time...
You could have a dirty injector in one cylinder, so it's really only running on five and needs a few more RPM's to keep going. Once it warms up, does it run fine at an idle? If so, I would suspect a dirty or 'coked up' injector. I have a truck that has no power till it's been run for half an...
At the speeds we go over the rougher areas, your kidney may not realize it is traveling. The gravel roads sometimes give more jarring than the big rocks we have to climb over and around. Of course, all this is moot if you are riding in the half track!
I did the I-20 to I-10 going to San Clemente from Columbia, SC in 2000. Nice ride. About 60 miles east of El Paso is Van Horn, TX, get a picture of the only billboard in town, and heed it's advice. It'll be a long time before you see another place to fill up!
Two years ago at the GA Rally I sold a BUNCH of hydraulic hose (a tri-wall full) that came with something I was bidding on and wanted. Gimpy picked it up for me from Columbus. A local hydraulic guy was very pleased to buy all the hose for what I'd spent on the entire lot. Don't remember if it...
Since I can read clearly that it has an "Ordnance Number", it is NOT for the multifuel deuces, because they phased out that nomenclature in the 1950's. The seven digit number was originally a drawing number, and morphed into the Federal Stock Number, and more lately into the National Stock...
