As some of you know, I got a 53 m62 wrecker at the begining of this year. I fixed the starter and tinkered with some of the other features. The rear winch worked, the front will work with a little time and effort, the crane section had no fluid in it. I have read that the reserve tank holds...
AMGeneral, I saw in another post you have a 1972 Caterpillar M553 GOER wrecker(serial#W-1,first production M553). I'd love to see pics of your truck. Do you have any to post up? I don't want to make you go for a photo shoot, but I have only seen like 2 pics of them. Thanks in advance.
Found what looks to be an m100 trailer. The seller doesn't seem to want to get me good pics. I do not know how much is a fair price. Its a 2hr drive, what are your thoughts on pricing? I'm thinking less than 200.
I was Talking with the manager of a local Bob Evans today. We got on the topic of wvo in a diesel. I am picking up 50 gal of wvo Mon or Tues. I am currently reading all the alternative fuels topics so I am not plum dumb on the topic. While I am catching up, I saw in an old thread that Bjorn used...
So I gave my wrecker some attention yesterday, namely the power steering. I filled the reservoir, then jacked up the front, and turned the wheels from lock to lock. I didn't notice any change in steering-wheel feedback after 15-20 reversals. I shut her down and got out to look. The reservoir had...
With my 5 ton purchase, I got a set of 6tl batteries. I figure they are dead, but I was wondering about an addative. I recall a thread about dumping out the water and refilling with this stuff, but I didn't find the thread. Anyone have an answer? Once I get that I will try hooking up a...
I've been looking over some specs for the m62, m543 and m246s. It looks to me like the m62 and m543 have an 18ft length but the m246 reaches 26ft. The booms all look very similar. Anyone have any incite? Does the m246 have that much more reach?
Lookin at pickin up a 1953 5Ton truck. It has been overhauled to a multifuel. I know there are some differences, but would the starter from my deuce work on the 5T? I'm thinkin there just in different locations, but want to be sure.
I have acquired some "steer tires" for my deuce cause Opcom made them sound like a good idea. I started looking at what I have on the truck and I am not real happy with the rot. I got 3 extra rims and tires with the purchase. I have broke one of the spares down to inspect, and put back together...
I got my deuce with a canvas top rotted too much to sew. Another member had a vinal top that was in need of some sewing and he didn't want to mess with. I bought that top and re-worked it. I used a product called Pliobond to glue it together and then sewed it to add strength. here are some...
So I got side track with the holidays and other projects. I am now ready to filter the heating oil and other fuels I got for a good price. I have one filter that looks like steel wool. It will be first in line to remove any large particles. My question is for the next two filters. I have one...
Well I knew it would happen sooner or later. I just checked my voicemails at work. Someone thought enough of me to leave the new budweiser comercial on my voice mail. If you haven't heard it yet, it applies to us 109 owners to the "T". Its one of those that says "heres to you Mr. insanely large...
