    M37 Barn Find

Spent the last couple days replacing heater hoses and associated hardware. The truck had some real sad sounding electrical horns. I needed something much louder. I picked up a air horn set up some years ago. I dug it out, cleaned everything up and installed the two horns and small compressor...

    M-52 Recovery

I’ve got the time but it’s a might bit to cold to work in. I don’t remember asking but would it be possible to get paper copies of the wiring diagrams? I tried saving and printing from the pictures and it ended up looking like a spaghetti sandwich.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Same here. They owned the land before I was here and they’ll own the land long after we as a species are turned into dust.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

I’ve seen some pretty gnarly yard goblins. There’s skunks, badgers, prairie dogs, weasels and the occasional speed goat. What kind of critter is that?

24 volt to 12 volt "module"

Did you do the doghead mod? I had similar problems. I looked through a bunch of posts to discover potential fixes. I replaced all the glow plugs, which were shot. I also did the relay mod and then got rid of the original fuel filter. I put a spin on filter mount in it’s place and haven’t had a...

I here by name her Bride of Frankenstein!

    M37 Barn Find

She’s a might bit cold blooded. So far I can keep her running with judicious use of the gas pedal. Lights work, horns sort of work and the turn signal works although I’ll have to replace the little bitty bulb on the arm.

    M37 Barn Find

Found out what’s under the panel. The mechanism for the emergency brake. Update: the panel was installed on M-37’s up to 1952. They were removed after that. That means the truck is much older than the title indicates. Hmm, I wonder if I can get it changed?

    M37 Barn Find

Got a 12 volt fuel pump plugged into the engine. She started right up and purred like a kitten. Got some tweaking to do but I can move her about with more confidence. Here’s the pics for the panel between the seats:

    M37 Barn Find

Been working on the truck the past week or so. Removed the Rube Goldberg winch/hoist thingy from the bed. Still bits and pieces that need removal but it’s gone. Pulled the solid front bumper off and reinstalled the split bumpers that came with the truck. I replaced the battery with a new one and...

    Rigging Kit

An example of uncommanded input is from my CH-53 days. In the automatic flight control system there are servos that must be correctly positioned in order for pilot inputs to be accurately sent to the rotor systems. There are various servos, each one is detailed for a particular flight movement...

    Rigging Kit

There’s various reasons for checking rigging. A rig check is mandatory every time a component in the flight controls is repaired or replaced. At certain times, such as a 200 hour phase inspection, a rigging check is mandated. Another reason is if there is a uncommanded input into the flight...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I went to the local O’Reilly parts store. Not my first choice but NAPA is closed Sundays. After much research by the store manager, we figured out the two alternator belts. Installed after much trial and tribulation. I’ll see if she’ll start tomorrow.

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I’ll take the one that for the driver's side alternator to the parts store. It’s the wrong size. I’ll need a smaller one, maybe an inch shorter. The other two can be tightened up without sloppy slack. Thanks for the help! I still have one more bugle if yer interested. It’s just gathering dust in...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I’m finally going to replace the fan belts. I’m tired of the screaming! Problem is, I can’t seem to find the civilian belt part numbers. I’ll cut to the chase: can you give me the correct civilian belt part numbers? I’d prefer the Gates part but I’ll take anything at this time. Many thanks for...

    M-52 Recovery

That little trailer would definitely fit the bill. Not too big, just big enough. There’s a National Guard museum here in Cheyenne. They have a 155 cannon on display. I’ve thought of offering to tow it in one of the CFD parades. Not sure they’d take me up on it... What kind of tank is that? Not...

    M-52 Recovery

Pictures of the installation of the fifth mount. In the 4th picture is a close up of the stack. The 800 series plate is against the frame. Since the frame has raised rivet heads, I reamed out spaces in the bottom of the plate so it can fit snug against the frame. The top plate has two spacers(?)...

    M-52 Recovery

Update for today: got the 800 and 900 series adapter plates drilled and installed. Also got holes drilled in the big mount plate that all other parts are bolted to. It took an excessive amount of time to get everything just right. Everything is now installed and will be bolted down tight as soon...

    M-52 Recovery

I’ve got a bunch of the digital TM’s for the 800’s. There’s a bunch of similarities between the M39 series and the 800’s. The 900’s are completely different.
