That generator requires a dual regulator. I can’t read the numbers. Probably needs a N3135 regulator. You need to review the Neihoff alternator TM’s.

Pictures of type of generator are a great place to start Ken. Maybe more info in your signature line so we can help without guessing.

    How costly will this be?

N3135 bought from reputable vendor like 86humV or RWH or HPG I might avoid a specific vendor on EPay who claims OEM but they are really chicom knockoffs. Golfer or Wolf Man or some such...

    How costly will this be?

Eric aka Hummer H1 rips those anlternators out and welds in mounts for off the shelf GM alternators. He has almost 300,000 miles on one of those conversions.

    Another HMMWV in limp mode

My humble advice… Temporarily use two wires to bypass and power up tranny to see if that helps. Then you will know if you can drive. After that fiddle with and or trace wires and replace the power breakers.

M1151 A1 funky behavior at the traffic light

Even with bad glow plugs, that light would light up assuming it’s functional. The implication is either the light is bad, or Mogman is correct stating that the protective control box versus EESS Smart box is no longer properly functioning.

Mogman, you post that TM so often that you need to include that transmission TM in your signature line. 😉

    1986 M998 Starter Issues

Once you interrupt the energy flow in a set of batteries connected in series, you have essentially disconnected the circuit. Just disconnecting the connection between the two batteries, if done carefully and correctly, will remove power from the circuit. When you play with electrics on a HMMWV...

    1986 M998 Starter Issues

Disconnect the batteries prior to fixing the starter and its switch, or you will blow the glow plug controller and you’ll be calling me about a “Genius Box”. Before doing any and all electrical work on your truck you MUST MUST MUST disconnect the batteries, or else you’ll blow the PCB/EESS also...

    1986 M998 Starter Issues

    1) read the TM’s (technical manuals) that are provided for free above 2) update/upgrade to the new starter bracket. The starters are heavy and the new style bracket makes life easier. 3) extract the old broken starter bolt and use 2 brand new starter bolts. Kascar and Hummer Parts Guy and...

    1999 M1097A2 Loses Power 6.5l

Your fuel lift pump is suspect. Fill the tank to full and if the problem improves, that might be it. The injection pump can provide some suction but uphill it will fail when the fuel pump is bad. A full tank provided pressure to push fuel to the injection pump. A half tank won’t. Also make...

    REV Truck Air Conditioning

Air is compressible. All gasses are. Air just liquifies at the wrong temp and pressure to be as efficient for a car compressor. When air gets into the system, the compressor won’t be able to liquify the mixture properly, so the system won’t work efficiently. When your system let go, air got...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Your vehicle was the slowest on the road, and your speedometer cable is what you’re blaming? I guess if that’s your story, you can go with it. 😝

Procedure for removing headlight buckets where bushings break off.

Fastest and least damaging… drill out flat side other side. Annoying but simple. Other method would have been tack weld a bolt to other side and use ratchets both sides. not enough room for a cutoff wheel and Dremmel just too small. Thanks guys!
