Procedure for removing headlight buckets where bushings break off.

Darned buckets rotted. Worse, bushings are breaking and end nuts are frozen. Anyone know the best procedure for removing the frozen nuts from the hood? Or do I need to drill out/brute strength them?

    Log of my 1995 Hummer

Been busy. Had a hot second today to make a small change, but it’s the little things that make all the difference. Rusted lug nuts going away. New black ones from Amazon installed. Cleaned up the wheels nicely. Old bolts will get muriotic acid and black paint and will be recycled onto the M1025.

Need to tap some power in the rear

Double that amperage when selecting wires and relays and switches.

Need to tap some power in the rear

I’ve read the title of this thread three times, and I still think it could have been written by Bob Guccione. Tap power from batteries and use a relay. My strong suggestion.

Caution about Iron Planet/Gov Planet HMMWV's

Honestly, who cares? What is the purpose of all the guessing about Uncle Sam’s actions? They auction until it’s done. There are only 500,000 more to go.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Nothing as good as cruising to “The World Famous Ramones”!!!! And yes, that song was and is about my home town. Thanks for the smile.

    REV overheating - normal?

Start simple. Make sure you have enough radiator fluid and you don’t have a leak.

Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

When I crawled under mine, I was able to reach them.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Parks Department built a new multimillion dollar off the grid modern looking building by the beach. My buddy and I decided to go for a drive. We decided we should figure out what this place was. Honestly, it is a super expensive public toilet with a few water fountains and office space. What I...

Loosen the injector hoses from underneath. Crawl under. Trust me.

    Cooling system upgrades

Yes. And it is inferior to the HMMWV system. I own several HMMWV and I own my 1995 Hummer. I can say by experience that my HMMWV A0 through ECV REV A are universally superior. Temps when the fan is activated get lower in a flash. I can also use a switch to bypass the Cadillac valve to activate...

Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

Respectfully. Not all injectors get stuck OPEN. This method I described is exactly how I found a plugged/closed injector that needed replacement.

Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

As an explanation of Mogman post, you keep cracking injector fuel lines until you find the one that does not affect the cadence/tap. The bad injector line can’t push fuel through so loosening it can’t affect the engine rhythm.

    Cooling system upgrades

Respectfully… 1-Military cooling upgrade kit requires pixie dust and Elvin magic. AMG woulda done it if it worked. 2-Unless your hydraulic system is missing or busted, nothing is wrong with the HMMWV cooling system as-is. That viscous system posted is only 80% maximal. Cannot lock up. It will...

    Log of my 1995 Hummer

Today I swapped in new LED headlights. My vehicle had some type of upgrade. Halogen or Xenon. I have pictures. There was an energizer on the back of the lights and an extra power plug with a strange connector. It provided crap illumination. I swapped in Amazon $60 headlights I bought years ago...

    Log of my 1995 Hummer

As a favor to Tor, I drove to deliver a replaced part from Tor to my friend George. Tor worked on his truck and replaced the steering gear. George owns three Hummer H1’s. Turned into a Hummer jamboree and photo op.
