Check the ground wire for the voltmeter. Small possibility the regulator is fine and the meter or it’s connection is farked. Also clean and retighten the connections to the regulator to ensure clean contacts.

Take lots of pictures to document, then send back for full refund. Packaging needs to be robust.

And the major question is… Why do you have an overhead garage fan in Massachusetts?

The point is, a lot of these parts won’t fail within the warranty period. They will however fail at a significantly shorter interval than the real thing.

Devil’s advocate asks… What if it dies in three months or a year. No warranty.

New with this price is concerning. Look at the sales location. Many non-English characters. And the no-returns policy of this seller doesn’t inspire confidence.
