I think AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) batteries are the answer to the problems we encounter in MVs. According to the FAQ on windsun.com (which deals with solar electricity collection and storage):
"AGM batteries have several advantages over both gelled and flooded, at about the same cost as...
The vent caps are there to, hopefully, vent to preempt an explosion, hopefully. Have you checked the water in the battery? I would replace the hisser...
It was a good show! I got to see a Mule up close for the first time (and driving around), and that beautiful half track! I can't decide what was cooler, watching that 1919 Excelsior running around (runs good) or watching the half track drive off down the road (he drove it in from Schertz, 20...
I would leave the frame number alone!!! The numbers on the data plate might be good enough for a curious officer, and we ARE talking about a 40 year old piece of machinery that nobody is likely to think twice about anyway.
The lack of training or GAS (Give A S**t) in the local tax offices is...
Only enter the VIN on the frame in the "VIN" part of the SF-97 request form, they are going to make out the SF-97 with whatever you send them even if it's wrong.
If you are issued a plate you need to display a plate, the plate number painted on the outside of the truck won't do.
The vin cert...
04M-55271 is the Registration Number, 0539-13775 is the VIN (your insurance won't find that number either). What does your SF-97 say? Without a VIN cert the transaction might be rejected, or not, all you can do at this point is wait and see.
Well I guess you can't believe everything in the internet (SHOCKING :)) That actually makes me feel a bit better about using them to secure my trucks, I was disappointed that they were so easy to defeat
Slipping works on a 5200 according to the video. 5200 w/chain sell for $12 in new condition in the surplus stores in Killeen, I don't recall if they have any keyed alike.
Look on YouTube for "5200 lock" and you will find a video on "slipping", it's away to use a shim to get into the lock via the hasp, once in they can be re-keyed. As for the cut locks with keys, you can take the tumbler out and install it in other locks so they can all be keyed the same. When the...
I didn't serve (medical reasons) but my Deuces and M1009 did and they like to wear their old uniform, 383 and MERDC camo. I don't drive retired MVs to get attention for myself I drive them to show my support for the Solders, Sailors and Marines, past and present. Whenever someone thanks ME for...
Would it be acceptable to buy a 30 day Texas temporary tag and take it with you to recover a vehicle in another state and drive it back on that tag? If you have the make/model/VIN then you should be able to get insurance, and insurance on a particular vehicle is all you need to get a temp tag in...
