more room behind wheel m35a2 help?

No offense taken by me! I have the triple whammy of being tall, round and somewhat handicapped. When I tried to get behind the wheel of my Deuce for the first time I nearly cried:cry: I got my body behind the wheel but could NOT get my feet on the pedals. There are not many MVs I can drive...

more room behind wheel m35a2 help?

That's pretty much what I did, but by removing the entire seat back and leaning against the back of the cab I got a few more inches of clearance. I love the idea that simply loosing weight will solve all cab clearance problems... I need shorter legs, smaller boots and a new hip that has more...

Motor City Motors - another Deuce on TV

Lame show (liked it MUCH better the first time I saw it, when it was called Monster Garage), but they didn't do anything too bad to the Deuce. They said it was a 1969 Kaiser-Jeep but it had early indicator lights and was a gasser (or at least had gasser exhaust)... it was also a rust bucket that...

    King of the rattle can

I gunned the green base coat but rattle canned the brown and black. I printed out a guide and outlined the shapes with chalk by eye.

more room behind wheel m35a2 help?

I cut the back off the box seat so I could move my hips farther to the rear, so my long legs (and bum hip and size 13 boots) could all fit betwixt the seat and clutch pedal. I can take a photo for you tomorrow if you like.

    Camo Paint on M1008

On a CUCV the US military only used solid 383 green, solid 686 tan, or three color 383 green/brown/black, usually... Before anyone jumps on me for using the word "ONLY" I will say that the regs called for those paint schemes on the CUCV, what was done at the unit level could be anything! I have...

How do you start your truck in cold weather

I started my M1009 the other morning when it was 19* inside the truck. One cycle and a little throttle and she coughed to life first try. My high idle stopped working the first cold snap we had so I have to warm her up with my foot, but otherwise it does fine.

    Hooks Trailer Pick Up 12/07/09

NOT a stupid question (a little off topic, but not stupid). I don't know the military designation but I believe it's called a dolly converter? Several SS members have them and some use them exactly the way you describe, here are some photos from one of their posts:

    Huey flight time

When I was a kid in the 80's I thought wanted to fly helicopters for a living, so I started reading everything I could about the general principals of flight. The more I learned and the more time I spent around the Jet Rangers at the local airfield, I lost interest, and eventually went in other...

    Deuce kids toy

There was a plastic M34 made in the 70's (I actually had one as a kid) that is pretty hard to find these days. As I understand it the moulds were destroyed and there will be no more made. I have one at work, will photograph and post it tomorrow.

    wheel chocks

I do the front driver side wheel because it's easier for me to see it on my way to the cab, so's I don't forget to pull chocks before I drive off. Your reasoning makes plenty of sense, and that is how I will explain it in the future:)

    wheel chocks

I use the rubber chocks from Harbor Freight (same as Tractor supply but cheaper), they do the job and match the ones that came in my Deuce and M1009 when I picked them up from the Army. You CAN drive a Deuce over them if you forget to un chock without damaging them (ask me how I know). DO NOT...

    m1010 Body Modification

There's your answer! The M1010 is much less common than the M1008 and M1009, and if what you really want is a pickup truck then pick up on one of those M1008 in your area. I'm sure you could resell the M1010 in the classifieds here or on eBay. AND the amount of work required to convert an...

Liberty Hill Texas Christmas parade video

Wagner, and it was used in the village attack scene in Apocalypse Now, which means that it will forever be associated with the Vietnam war... It was also used in The Blues Brothers (which means it will always be associated with Henry Gibson in my mind)
