WRONG, the sprage is shifted by air for f/r. the air switch dumps the air, putting the sprag in neutral, no the air disconnect will not cause sprag problems, and trust me you CAN get stuck if you FORGET to flip the air on, :oops::oops:
No need to pull tires and wheels, jack up BOTH wheels on one axle, the adjustment is cam action, a cam for each shoe, don't worry about the lower adjustment just the upper one, adjust out till snug, then back off as rotating tire till just no drag, never mind the 4 point feeler gage method the...

The 819 is a DIFFERENT crane then the 816, I have not measured but it must, on mine (819) with the boom all the way out (26') and all the way up, the hook is just a tad off the ground and still have the safety wraps.

You can bleed all you want, if the brakes are NOT adjusted first you will get a bad pedal, adjust, then bleed the m/c, then the airpack, then the farthest w/c and make sure the bleeder does not go dry, when you bleed, get the air out of the M/c first so it is FULL of fluid.
NO, more loading on the higher gears due to the gear reduction in the trans.
