    Working on the M1078 LMTV

Christmas and my birthday are only a month apart. If you got me one I'd consider both days covered :)

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

So I see all the different threads for Expedition Truck builds and like where a lot of these are going. I still want to leave the truck the way it is and do something with my trailer though. The 1st thought was just buying a Hi/Low bumper hard-sided pop up trailer and pulling the axle then...

    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

At 250,000 Euro + VAT, shipping, etc (or $279,000 US) for the 20' unit I think I can replace my tent a couple of times over. It'd be neat to have but not very economical and certainly not within my price range.

    FMTV legality issue?

County tax offices handle vehicle registration in TX and there are usually several satelite offices scattered around each county. I went in to register my M1082 trailer this week and timed it. Twenty-two minutes from when I walked in the door to when I walked out. That was being 3rd in line...

    Membership Drive

"Re-up, Re-up? You're crazy! Re-up, Re-up? You're outa your mind!" (that one's for Papa Bear) Okay, so I'm crazy. Two more years.

    LMTV cab latch

I'm also having problems with mine. The only way I can get it to latch completely is to use a large screwdriver to pry down on the cab portion. My guess is that's it is just out of adjustment but I haven't had a chance to work on it. Just too easy to do the screwdriver trick and move on to...

Here you go. from a M1078. I recommend printing and taping inside your battery cover.

M37 as First Car? Anybody Done It?

At 45mph that would not be a fun trip. And the stock M37 steers about as good as a M35 so a CUCV with power steering makes a lot more sense.

No shortage of M998s for GP/IP

When they're starting parts trucks out for more than they were starting runners out for 6 months ago it's no wonder they're getting so many "auction unsuccessful" lots. Four of the last 7 I had on my watch list didn't sell. I don't really care how many more they have to list if they think...

Looking for a lmtv to test drive near bozeman mt

Sometimes you just need to take a leap of faith. The 1st LMTV I laid hands on was mine. I love the truck and hope to put many miles on it in the years ahead.

    GOV Planet Tax issues

Well I'm glad someone is getting some relief. I'm still not going back to holding my breath though.

    GOV Planet Tax issues

So I started sending emails and PMs. What I got was a revised invoice where they showed charging me the tax, refunding the tax, then charging the tax again. So basically diddly squat. I think the next step is going to have to be the state Tax Commissioner. On a separate note, anyone have...

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

I went to register the M1082 trailer today and was happy, but not completely surprised, to get the consecutive plate from the M1078s. There's only 2 years left on them though and I doubt I'll be as lucky next time around.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

The straps I'm using for the front of the cargo cover are actually replacements for securing the troop seats in the "up" position. They have a piece of aluminum angle riveted to the strap then that angle is riveted to the bottom of the seat. It was easy enough to drill out the rivet but you're...

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

I got a little bit of work done this afternoon between raindrops. The truck was missing the Bridge Plate numbers when I got it so I was able to get a set in a bag of goodies I got from my dealer in the parking lot of a HEB grocery store today. I'm sure it looked very suspicious with him...
