1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Today was more grass mowing and searching for M1009 CUCV wheels. I hit the jack pot. I dug out all the wheels and sorted thru them. I found a pile along with 8 more that are still on trucks sitting in the field. So all is well. I am going to load these and have them spun on the balancer before I...

    M1009 headlight options?

Looks great to me. I haven't seen a Honda Civic with sealed beams in 30 years. Are your D-rings attachment tubes bent towards the center a bit? Someone may have been tow baring without a front bumper or brace.

    Loose wire on M1009

That is used on the M1010 rear heater fuel pump. I know it was hooked up on all the M1010's I had. No worries if you don't have an M1010.

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

I was trying to get an idea of how the LINE X would look all cleaned up. It had some mud and dirt in it for the past 10 years plus. It cleaned up like new just spraying it and scrubbing it with tire cleaner. I look forward to scrubbing and scuffing the underside. I will then coat it with rusfree...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

I never had the window rubber out of this truck. I owned it since it had 3300 miles on it and it had a clear glass that was cracked. I pulled the glass and put a shaded with antenna glass in it right after I bought it. I must replace it again. It is clouded around the bottom edges. Glad I pulled...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Today I started at 0500 at my regular job and was home at 1100. I mowed grass got about 3/4 of that done and then worked on my m1009 project. I did get some help to remove the seats and the windshield. I was happy with what I found. Brazed the patch on the left rear 1/4 panel and brazed a tab on...

'86 CUCV 1009 -Left rear upper bracket - shock

I am open for your decision. After I seen it I could fab one very quickly. The hardest part is you getting the old one off. You can bolt it in place. No welder needed. Many options here. It is just that a bracket and once in place will out live the truck. Let me work on this over the weekend. I...

    M1009 headlight options?

That is $180. each US. The cheese must be with you. They are Mil spec lights and I thought that was what everyone on this site liked. Maybe NOT. But I still thought they did. They have aluminum housing and Lexan lenses. But to each his or her own. Never heard a bad thing about them from anyone...

'86 CUCV 1009 -Left rear upper bracket - shock

Yes you are right. that is all that piece is. Nothing special about that. You can make that thing in 15 minutes from a piece of angle. With that being said can you make one or do you want me to make you one. The hardest part will be getting yours off. Or NOT just welding a piece to it. Nothing...

    M1009 headlight options?

I have had all the lights you mentioned. Never altered the stock harness in any way. It seems to me the only people that have anything bad to say about the Truck lite LLED's is the people that don't have them. They look completely normal in the truck and match the rest of the trucks with the LED...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. I didn't tighten the nut that seats the wheel until I drove the truck for a while and decided the wheel was straight when driving down the road. That wheel has a mark on it as does the steering shaft. They were put there for a reason. The should be aligned so everything else can be properly...

Put some light machine oil on the threads and tighten them up. They will be fine. I have a 30 MM nozzle socket that works great. It is a Snap-On. diesel is nice light oil also. Hope that helps.

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

After a week of flooding and not mowing grass. I started out the evening cutting grass and it started raining. Once I get motivated I have to keep going. No transmission or front axle yet. Too busy to check on the status and always have something else to do. Bought a ton of new parts this week...

Truck lite LED 27450C best deal in town and looks great on the CUCV. Also is DOT approved unlike many of the less expensive models available.

'86 CUCV 1009 -Left rear upper bracket - shock

Be it sight, sound, the smell, the touch. There's something, Inside that we need so much, The sight of a touch, or the scent of a sound, Or the strength of an arquebus deep in the ground. The wonder of flowers, to be covered, and then to burst up, through tarmack, to the sun again, Or to fly to...

I have that bracket. I am sure of that. Send a picture of exactly what it is that you need. I hope I can help out. I have parted out several CUCV frames from all variants and kept the cross members and brackets from every one.
