Wrong answer. It is on the passengers side. 10 o'clock would be drivers side and I know it is not there. It is on the same side as the starter. Trust me. But if you mean the tab comes off the tube and goes towards the engine you got me. But it is still on the passengers side of the bell housing.
I have the fuel pump push rod. Of course I do. I would like 2 expired Idaho license plates for it. Nice clean ones please. No need for another hacked up wiring. The OEM system works well. It lasted 33+ years. That's pretty good. Let me know. I will mail it out. Any other smalls you need?
A HMMWV 6.2 and a 6.5 Optimizer long block will drop right into my M1008 with no problems correct? And all I would basically have to do is transfer the accessories from my current 6.2 over to another long block correct? An Optimizer will need a difference oil pan correct?
Honestly I don't...
The huffing oil is present during idle with the cap off. When you pick up the RPM's it goes away. Or should I say it is supposed to. I would probably fix what you have the leak at the rea of the head could be a vacuum pump leaking, an oil pressure sending unit, valve cover or something else. But...
I added 2 more Chevrolet truck tailgates to the barn today. No harm was done to any of them. I removed all the hardware from the CUCV gate to lighten it up. Looks nice. Have a Great Week.
As you are laying up looking forward on the starter side(right) it will be on the 2 o'clock bell bolt to block. It breaks off a lot and may need welded back on. Good Luck.
Big empty barn bay. Need to get my Little Rad Riding Hood back home. It is thundering outside since 0600 this AM. I was admiring the stock clear windshield and checking out the tires. I could still say tires half over 1/2 tread. They may be 30 years old but they have over 1/2 tread. All matching...
Don't get a spare. Let the dry rot occur on the shelf in the parts house. They will move more stock during your storage and you will always get a fresh one. Like a said. A pump is a pump. I had the AC fail. AC is also Chinese. (main land) They will always be available.
Watch out using magnets on your vehicles. It will cause rust. I seen it happen. (Wild Guess) It pulls steel particles out of the air and rubs thru the finish someway. I am not a metal professor but I seen it many times on vehicles. And flat paint is the worst to keep from rusting. Have a Great...
That switch can be a bit challenging to change. It is easy when you take your time and do it in a cool place. Be careful and adjust it properly. It slides on the column and is easy to change. Tiny fasters. Mine was made by Singer sewing machine company.
These trucks do not even need a lift pump to run and run well, joy of a mechanical diesel.
Then explain this.
I was once out strolling riding about one very hot summer's day in my M1009. When it decided to let me sit is a big field of tall Mexican grass. I sat there in the sun and felt it...
We forged rivers thick with snowmelt and searched for arrowheads in the desert. You can “ford” a raging river. Or you can “forge on” or “forge ahead.” But you can't “forge” a river. So a fuel pump with a forging attachment must be black smith related for adding fuel to the fire. :)
Autozone sells Delphi pumps. I did a write up in the past about these Delphi pumps. I will search and attach the post. I have the same Delphi on several CUCV trucks no issues.

Clearing out the hooch for Little Rad Riding Hood today after work. Moving right along. Clearing out the barn. Also my stash of powder coated bumper brackets, braces and spare tire carrier. Dusty but like new.
I am so confused by the question. Are you working on the M1009 rear window crank? If so it go wider side down to retain the contour of the gate and make the bell crank straight inside to engage the regulator.
I scrapped 6.5 engines that were in cutaway busses because the heads were different and I saved them for CUCV's. I sold the buses for scrap and they were crushed with the 6.5 engines in them. Hated to do it but I needed to use them and they didn't fit. Scrap was high at the time and I scrapped a...
They work fine in CUCV's. Just use the long block assembly and you are good to go. Most people have everything else but a good long block. I put several in CUCV's but not at that price. That was the installed price in a HMMWV finished. I tend to work for less when I have something to work with...
