York 210 on board air mount, pics

Sounds like a cool and usefull addition, I was going to recommend an air drier but then noticed where your at. An air drier would be almost mandatory here in NY. Please keep us updated as you go.

    cucv rear plate tag light

In Ny the inspection regulations require that all lights work that the vehical came with from the factory, cucv never had plates or lights!

    rear wheel leak...

Here we go about bolts again! :) Defiantly replace that lock bolt! I had one that a DPO had broken of and left in there, that was fun.

    rear wheel leak...

This is why I use never-seize when re assembling parts like this, yeah it's messy when you get it on your hands but 2 or 30 years from now you'll be glad you used it!

How to remove brake drums? No adjuster slot?

Yep, bottom of the backing plate there should be 2 knock out plates. Sometime they pop right out others not so much. If your like me sooner or later you'll run into an ajuster thats frozen up or shoes that are rusted to the drum, simple easy way to get them off. Just use a muffler cut off tool...

    86 M1009 Hydroboost swap?

I used to think you went overboard doing head gaskets for 'no good reason' other than age. BUT I now admit I was wr er wro um mistaken! I have a 20,000 mile engine that's been sitting for awhile and decided I'd toss in a set of head gaskets and rear main oil seal before installing in the truck...

    m1008 front differential sounding board

like ehuppert The only times I ever got stuck was plowing and the blade got hung up and one time I dropped the front wheels off an edge and hung the frame/tranny crossover up on the edge. That was the only time I couldn't get out by myself, my kid had a tough time pulling it out. A locker of...

    6.2 Civi Vs. Military

Cool pic porky! Heads or pre cups could be different but I really doubt it. Garagefull, try adjusting the timeing, if nothing else do it by ear and if now better then you know I'm wrong. In the past I've loosened the IP bolts useing a long 3/8 extention slid all the way from the back under the...

Does anyone else get poor readings from 6.2 added temp gauge?

BINGO!! An air pocket will cause all sorts of funky readings.

    6.2 Civi Vs. Military

I believe the sound differance that I've encountered was from the IP timeing, if the pump timing is advance a bit you get more power but go to far and it sounds like the engine is coming apart add in the cold advance and it gets REAL loud! Try unplugging the cold advance and see if that quiets...

M1028 overload spring questions / issue

That seems to be correct, the over load springs I had IIRC had two leaves above the spacer and the center bolt I THINK went all the way thru. But its been awhile.

Down to the frame she goes!

Looks like fun, when someone else is doing it!

it looks like the driver side axle mount is pushed back

Unless you hit something and bent the frame the above is the most likely cause. The rubber bushing that go in the front shackles is available at NAPA for about $20

    Cucv tire carrier

I like the concept but that's a bit on the pricy side! Good thing I have a welder and bandsaw :) , I think I just found a new project

    New M1008! Couple of questions!

Especially if it's running!aua DOH!! and I knew better!

    M1008 won’t move when cold

You said you changed the fluid, but have you checked the fluid level? Sounds stupid but even the simplest things get overlooked. If it's full and the problem persists I'd think of adding a bottle of Lucas tranny additive, I'm not a fan of snake oil additives but I have gotten results from Lucas...

    Rear Axle Came Loose...

WOW! At first I thought the lock nut failed and the nut just unscrewed itself but then I enlarged it and saw that that the bearing must've failed and somehow came apart and went over the nut! " I noticed there's hardly any fluid in the differential." I'd replace everything on that side and be...
