Deuce impeller is NOT plastic. We swapped out Kip's Wednesday night because the pulley was wobbly. Pulled one out of my scrap engine to put in it's place. From the rust on it, it can't be plastic.
JJensen,
Parts are available through large tractor parts places. The LD-465 engine was used in the White and Oliver tractors (135's, 150's and maybe 165's). Last time I looked the rebuild kit was about $2700, but that included the tractor pistons and sleeves, not the multifuel (MAN cycle)...
Stan,
From a pure collector standpoint, it's a VERY GOOD thing. Esp the 'serial number' which indicates it's one of the first with the multifuel engines. They put the model number there because they had not made up new data plates for the new designation yet. A 'transitional' designator. A...
Dave Cartledge keeps talking about having one here in Columbia. So far we have been satisfied with doing historic displays, such as Armies Through Time last weekend in Camden, the Veterans Day Weekend in Charleston in November, the SC State Museum exhibit in August and that sort of thing. For...
Jon's right. Food probably, diesel never. Batteries (don't have to be 6TL's, just need 700+ cca batteries), DOT 5 brake fluid, fuel filter set, antifreeze, engine oil, transmission oil when doing the recovery. First trip should be to check it out and get pictures. If there was food inside...
Hi Jozepy,
Are you planning on coming to the GA Rally (Union Point, GA, Oct 19-23), or the Uwharrie Rally (Apr 22-23 - about 50 miles east of Charlotte)?
JC Taylor is great UNLESS you want to pull a trailer (of any type) behind your military vehicle. They do not insure that combination. Truck insurance is invalid if you are pulling a trailer, trailer insurance is invalid if being pulled by a JC Taylor insured vehicle. I have the e-mail's from...

two threads on the same screen as your question
They made it in this morning. Travo got up for a while but was going back to bed about 5pm. He'll post any details (including pictures) probably tomorrow.
Travo was on the way back at 7pm according to gimpy. Had to pick up a tire in Cincy for jwaller then down 75 to I-40 over the Asheville, then down I-26 to Columbia. ETA probably between 3 and 6 am if they don't stop, later if the do.
Chris,
If you paint the inside of the light fixtures with high temp white paint, they will be much brighter. See my thread on "A different kind of 109 conversion". Also, when you put in the A/c in the back, you may want to go high so there is plenty of room between the bottom of the A/C and...
I had read glowing reviews of White Owl here and e-mailed George about some blackout windows and the inspection port covers for the transmissions that are having their PTO's removed. he was very careful to make sure i got the correct parts the first time, even sending pictures to be sure we...
Recently had this passed on to me.
The correct civilian grease for the Roof Jack assembly (MIL-G-21164D) is Aeroshell 33MS, an extreme pressure (EP) grease. Most folks will be hard pressed to use an entire 14 oz tube, even when re-lubing both roof jacks and all four landing legs. Here's the...
Travo,
I'll bring you a little something to haul up on Wednesday. if we can get it to kipman or gimpy for eventual delivery to rwbrown72, that will be great!
