    rebuild kit

Yes, there are rebuild kits, but the are for the Oliver and White tractors, which were straight diesel engines (17 to 1 compression). they run a tad over $2600. Still interested? Major suppliers (Memphis, Saturn, etc.) can probably put one together for you for less money, but not a whole lot...

Need to ship a M923 from Hodges SC to Fort Wayne IN

Yeah, but the mileage doesn't change much whether you are running bobtailed or with a full load on those babies.

AmsOil // Lucas Oil in the Trans//TC

Paul, I'll agree on maintaining the engine is a key factor. My Toyota gets the oil changed every 5000 miles, and the timing belt every 60,000. It's got 309,131 on it right now. It does go through about a quart between changes, but I can live with that. My deuces all get Rotella T 15-40, but...

    Multifuel engines in shipping containers

One possible way to tell if the engine is new, is to look at the bolts holding the top and bottom of the can together (there are 38 of them, should be grade 8, sometimes grade 5). If the paint is undisturbed on the bolts and nuts, the engine is probably new. that's because the can has never...

    M2 Burner Units Circa 1993

IMHO, if you are going to keep them for something other than display, convert to Propane. There are several threads here on the site on how to do it. If you don't believe maddawg, do a Google search on "M-2 Burner" and read the horror stories. On a related note, I know where there are 14 M-2...

weight on Deuce and a half

That's a bobbed deuce (4 x 4 is the giveaway), standard deuce (m35A2) is 13050 empty, add 550 for the winch, 350 for a full fuel tank, and 200+ for the driver.

weight on Deuce and a half

Register the GVW as the weight of the vehicle plus what you think will be it's largest 'normal' payload (IE, something less than the military on-road gross weight). I made the mistake of registering my first truck for the full 24,700 pound weight. Rest are listed for their weight and 2,000...

International Title Service --- A+ SERVICE!

You can make a POA (Power of Attorney) limited to specific functions and amounts, just ask your regular lawyer to draw it up that way.

The -10 manual of December 1988 is Distribution "C". I just looked at my copy!

did anyone win this M49A2 out of Fort Sill

Good score, Ross. Till the TM section is restored, try going to Jakonta's site and remember the manuals cover all the different variants, so the stuff on your truck is there! www.jatonkam35s.com

GA 2010 Rally After Action Report

I talked with a sign maker today about signs to direct traffic to the rally. A set of four reusable signs, printed double sided , with the heavy duty metal legs, will cost about $55. Here's the catch, to get that price I have to purchase 25 of each sign, and no single rally needs that many...

    MKT Kitchen trailer BII items

I know of five MKT's in private hands in the Columbia, SC area. Mine, Dave's, Mitch's, Ferro's, and the club's. Most of ours are the -85 or -90 models, some upgraded to the MKT-I standard (MKT-99 Improved). Until Chris went to Roswell, there was a sixth one here. There's three more that I...

    MKT Kitchen trailer BII items

SFC Baerlocher, Do you know anyone interested in the M-2 burners. I know where there are 12-15 of them and spare parts near me. Owner wants them converted to cash. Several people here on the forum have converted them to propane, which IMHO is the highest use they should be put to (other than...

    Broadway Title

Well, That rules out the big guys in getting titles to our stuff! We have all read the trials some members went through recently with ITS, and it looks like Broadway is trying to be proactive about it (they don't want our business). Good Post, should be helpful if people will use the search...

    Help understanding GRA-39's

budman, The TA-43 is the earlier version of the TA-312, without the extra connector for a second handset. All other functions are the same, and the -43's are usually a bit cheaper. For my purposes, they are the same. Both models have been found on the surplus market for over 20 years, maybe...

    Help understanding GRA-39's

For some, it might be the technical challenge, others it's the 'use whats available', but given my druthers, I would use the TA-43/TA-312's and the SB-22's (cause that's what I have available).

    Need wisdom on genset perchase

MEP-003 produces 102 amps at 100 percent power factor at 800 feet and 120 degrees F. Lower elevations and cooler temperatures, it will produce more. You can set it to produce all that output as 208 V (110 on each leg), so you would be looking at 51 Amps on each leg. Your 875 is probably...

deuce folowed me home hunny can i keep it

My second M35 is a strong truck - it will do 2300 rpm all day long, pulling the MKT-85. On hills (what little ones we have here in SC), it will drop down to 2100 rpm pulling the MKT, but stays in 5th gear. I've got the spin on oil filters on it and try to keep up with all the PM. BTW, it will...

    Jumping a 24 volt with a 12 volt

It's the other way around, mcmullag. Starting a 24V CUCV with a 12V car, not a deuce, or a deuce starting a 12v car or truck. The CUCV has two alternators to provide the military standard 24V, but most of the system is just a 12V civilian vehicle.
