Flat towing an M923 from Socorro NM to beautiful Mountain Air NM. Note the empty water bottle propping the windshield open and the soft top folded back.
Looks like early variant M105A2. Air actuated brakes. Appropriate to tow behind an M35A2.
I tow them with a pickup truck, and I have even towed them with a jeep wrangler. (Not recommended)
I did in 2019. No issues since. I've put maybe 15k miles on it in a mixture of sustained interstate road trips and very tame off roading.

I've got an 802 with a bad master switch. (Tests bad. Power to #6, but nothing to #7 when in the crank position.)
I was pulling a known good switch off another machine. In so doing, I dropped a small copper piece out of the good switch (pictured on the floor next to it).
I can't figure out...
I've had two of them fail like you described, and a handful just explode with no warning.
All of them had plenty of tread and no cracks, old date codes.
