Hey yall, Im still very new to Deuce ownership, so my guess is that is something stupid, but I wanted some input and suggestions before I go and muck it up worse.
If you do not want to read the whole explanation, but you have something to contribute, then skip to the Bold section...
Ok, I am making preparations to tow with my truck. Im trying to do it inexpensively, but Im not sure how to determine weight ratings on a home grown job, and Im not sure what U-haul will require to prove its weight capacity.
The two most important requirements:
Must have 1-7/8" or 2"...
Looking for the specific difference between "Split Rings" and "Split Rims/Widowmaker"
(Not sure if this should be under Deuce or Safety)
About a year and a half ago I picked up a 1980 C20 for $150 from a GI on Fort Lewis. I brought it over to the folks house to work on it and my grandfather...
Ok, really simple question. Would Leds designed for use on a 12 volt motorcycle care if they are run on 24 volts?
My truck had the original turn signals removed and big bad spot lights put in the place of the turn signals. I like the spot lights and have some motorcycle LED turn signals...
EDIT: I have been munching humble pie, I was obviously wrong. Thanks all :)
Spike TV has so many 4wd shows that I have forgotten the name of the specific show. This show went on about the 14 bolt axles, did some interesting upgrades, including showing a way to increase ground clearance on...
This is my first recovery, and although the truck is only 70 miles away, I was wondering if anyone has a military tow bar I could barrow. I live in Riverside, and a forum member has already offered they may be able to come with in their M109A3. I have a complete lack of tools here in southern...
Howdy ya'll, I have been wanting a Duece for 3 years now, and after getting rid of a few expensive habits, (Including dumping a girl friend and switching to using only my street bike for transportation) I have been bidding in places like barstow and french camp mostly, but I need to figure out a...
Howdy yall, I am a pizza delivery driver for Papa Johns (Used to be domino's, need to change the avatar) and I have thought for a long time that a CUCV would be epic for pizza delivery. Now, originally I figured I would run veggie oil or bio diesel (still not 100% sure the difference) but now I...
Just wondering how much yall paid, and what kind of shape it was in. Sadly I cant really buy one yet... not practical living in a downtown apartment.... Parking would be a female dog in heat.
I have frequently day dreamed about how much fun it would be to deliver pizza in a Deuce. Just for the...
Ok, I am sitting here hunting for a CUCV in the western half of the country. This M1028 pops up, with a very very scarce (sp?) description. No pics, all I know is that is missing a tail gate. I dont mind not having a tail gate, I will just put a net across the back.
My concern is WHY would...
Ok, a year ago I wanted to deliver dominoes pizza in a CUCV, since then I defected to papa johns, have had both a gasoline 84 K5, and a gasoline 75 C20, and now I am ready to get a cucv, and there is nothing you can do to stop me! :p
I have been delivering in my 75 C20 for the last few months...
Ok, so I hate asking questions about civy blazers here, but I know you all are VERY knowledgeable, and posting here is free.
I went to pull all the "Un-needed" vacuum lines off my 1984 K5, and I lost torque converter lockup. Oops! I know nothing about automatics and didnt know there were...
Hey ya'll, I hate posting something that doesnt quiet fit this forum, but I know very little about diesels, and you guys are the experts for the 6.2, so I came to ya'll.
Im buying a civy GMC pickup with a 6.2. He says it doesnt burn any fluids, just a small oil leak from valve covers. I...
Little back story, I bought a civilian Blazer instead of a CUCV, and now I want to get the LSD front and rear 14 bolts off a M1028, in addition to the front bumper with the brush guard and the tow hooks. This thread focuses mostly on the need for some tow hooks....
Ok, just before Christmas I...
I searched and searched for an M1109 in Washington or Oregon in my price range, and I could find one. So, I traded my camaro for my new BEAST. I have big plans for it, but I think I need some parts from a CUCV to really make it what I want.
1984 K5 Blazer.

I think it would be cool to have one of these someday, and I was wondering what it takes to even be legal to drive it on the state roads.
Just wondering :)
Well, I decided to pass on an M1009 a few weeks ago because I just couldn't afford to get the one i had my eyes on. I still want one of these trucks, and Im putting money together now to get one.
Sadly, as a student at a tech school, I still live with my mom and dad, and they pay my car...
I just read something that said the M1028 is over a thousand pounds heavier than the M1008, despite the M1008 being rated as a 1.25 ton, and the M1028 only being a 3/4 ton. This surprised me and got me thinking.
I have been thinking a 3/4 ton is what I want, better fuel millage, less weight...
Well, I want to buy my first military truck from the Barstow California, and I will be driving it up to Ft Lewis, since I am concerned about a possible break down, I would feel more comfortable if I had the option to tow a broken truck home with the non broken one.
I am 18 and dont have too...
